Formula 1 British Grand Prix Race Preview, Sunday 30th June 2013

This Sunday’s race promises to be great as Lewis Hamilton comes in at pole position in today’s qualifying race, with the two Germans, Nico Rosberg and Sebastian Vettel close behind which concluded some positive results for Mercedes and Red Bull as also in 4th came Mark Webber.

With Lewis piping Nico to 1st it was actually the German who had the fastest time in the practice run, but that all means nothing until the day of qualifying when the end results mean everything. The British Grand Prix circuit is one of the fastest tracks the drivers have to face in their season and with Lewis Hamilton’s display today while finishing an incredible 0.452 seconds faster than others things only looked better for Mercedes.

With much of the talk today about who will replace Mark Webber next year for Red Bull it is left to media speculation yet again as to who will be Vettels new partner. With Red Bulls short list apparently consisting of newly added Kimi Raikkonen as well as Toro Rosso pair Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne.

With Lewis Hamilton coming in pole position and his partner Nico Rosberg close behind in 2nd, the stage could be set for Mercedes to at least get on the podium. But with the machine, Sebastian Vettel also seen close by in their rear mirrors he could also be setup for a win here at Silverstone.
