Monaco Grand Prix Preview, Sunday 24th May 2015.

Great news for British driver Lewis Hamilton as he claims his first ever pole position in Monaco, and his team mate Nico Rosberg was close behind coming in second. Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel comes in third once again which is starting to prove just how good the Ferrari is this season. Red Bull enjoyed a good qualifying session with both Daniel Ricciardo and Daniil Kvyat taking fourth and fifth respectively. Q3 proved to be a tough one for a lot of drivers after Nico Rosberg locked up and went off the track to bring out the yellow flag. Which in turn caused the likes of Button who had to cool down his final efforts of a good finish.

Mercedes and Red Bull have dominated Monaco in the last five years with Nico Rosberg winning the most recent two years, and then Red Bull drivers Mark Webber (2) and Sebastian Vettel claiming the 2010 to 2012 season. Lewis Hamilton has a good chance of making it his second win in Monaco with the last coming way back in 2008 when he was driving for McLaren-Mercedes. Lewis Hamilton has recently signed a new three year contract for Mercedes which is great news for him and Mercedes. The team has won five times in Monaco with the first coming way back in 1935, however this wasn’t part of the Formula 1 World Championships.

Monaco Grand Prix Previous Winners

Nico Rosberg and Mercedes have dominated the last two years yet Red Bull enjoyed wins in the previous three years. Over the years however it has been McLaren-Mercedes who had dominated with fifteen wins to date, although their last was way back in 2008 with Lewis Hamilton.

2014 – Nico Rosberg Mercedes
2013 – Nico Rosberg Mercedes
2012 – Mark Webber Red Bull – Renault
2011 – Sebastian Vettel Red Bull – Renault
2010- Mark Webber Red Bull – Renault

Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix Race Predictions, Tips & Winner Bets.

Formula 1 action this Sunday can be seen live on Sky Sports F1 High Definition and promises to be an all time special event, much like every year in the south of France. Nico Rosberg has won the race in the last two years and are also his only wins on the track. Where as team mate Lewis Hamilton looks to make it his second win with the last seen in 2008 when he was driving for McLaren-Mercedes.

Lewis Hamilton claims his first ever pole position in Monaco and is also the bookmakers favourites to actually win the race ahead of team mate Nico Rosberg. Mercedes have only won twice in Monaco after the war, and of course officially in the Formula 1 Championships. Where as McLaren have dominated in the last thirty years having won an incredible fifteen times. However I cannot see them adding any more to their trophy cabinet just yet and haven’t since 2008 with Lewis Hamilton as their driver.

My predictions for Sundays race will of course see Lewis Hamilton to win, but its how he wins which will turn any kind of return into something worth it. So lets go for a Lewis Hamilton hat-trick, which is pole position, fastest lap and of course the race win. The next I am going for is is a dual forecast of Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel, which will mean Nico Rosberg either comes in third or doesn’t finish, who knows.
