Italian Grand Prix, Sunday 6th September 2015.

What an exciting weekend so far at this famous Formula 1 track. The circuit is regarded as a symbol for the sport which combines twists and turns that require world class skill and speed. Not only is it one of the oldest tracks around, it is also the third circuit to be made permanent by the Formula 1 Championships. Known for some of the most exciting races of its time, it is also known for some of the sports worst accidents known, yet that hasn’t taken away from the fact that this track does certainly carry the most unique history in the sport to date.

Saturday started wet in Italy and only half way through the last practice session did teams start to transfer over to the slick tyres. Lewis Hamilton was once again leading the way with just under half a second lead which was good to see for Mercedes before qualifiers began. Great news for British fans as Lewis Hamilton once again grabs another pole position of the Championships, but this time without much trouble from team mate Nico Rosberg who starts the race in forth position. This will of course be behind Ferrari drivers Sebastian Vettel (third) and Kimi Raikkonen with a rare second place finish, almost claiming a pole position for himself. The Williams drivers once again proved to be consistent and start the race in fifth and sixth place, something that is becoming quite common this season.

Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo started the qualifying laps at the back of the grid after his car came to an early stop with suspected engine failure. But did manage to finish the day in fifteenth just behind his team mate Daniil Kvyat. McLaren did reasonably well in Practice 3 but ended the whole process with Alonso and Jenson Button starting in thirteenth and fourteen respectively. They are also still some of the favourites to once again fail to finish the main race in Italy this Sunday.

Italian Grand Prix Previous Winners

In the last five years both Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel have won the race on two occasions with Fernando Alonso winning the fifth way back in 2010. Sebastian Vettel however does have that extra win over Hamilton on this track, way back in 2008. Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher is however the top driver, having won on this circuit five times back in 2006, 2003, 2000, 1998 and 1996. The only drivers currently still racing who have won here are all of the above.

2014 – Lewis Hamilton Mercedes
2013 – Sebastian Vettel Red Bull – Renault
2012 – Lewis Hamilton McLaren – Mercedes
2011 – Sebastian Vettel Red Bull – Renault
2010- Fernando Alonso Ferrari

Nico Rosberg will be disappointed he is starting forth on the grid this Sunday as once again the German driver falls short of his fellow Mercedes team mate Hamilton. Sebastian Vettel is certainly driving exceptionally well this year for his new team and Ferrari cannot surely be more happier than recent years with the ex Red Bull drivers contributions. Vettel did exceptionally well in the last race to finish where he did, and bookmakers do feel the Ferrari driver is in with a chance of winning. Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix Race Predictions, Tips & Winner Bets.

Formula 1 racing action on Sunday can be seen live in Italy on Sky Sports F1 High Definition channel featuring fifty three exciting nail biting laps. Lewis Hamilton once again starts at the front of the grid and this time finds his fellow team mate Nico Rosberg sitting in the second row in forth. Sebastian Vettel took third place during the qualifying laps, just behind his team mate Kimi Raikkonen who enjoys a rare second place start. To be honest the top five during the qualifying laps all could of taken pole position, as there was only around half a second in it between them all.

Lewis Hamilton will be looking to make this his third win here on this circuit and has plenty of years left in him to beat the tracks record holder Michael Schumacher who has won on five occasions. Sebastian Vettel is no stranger to winning on this track having won here three times himself, and the bookmakers are now starting to realise the German certainly is always in with a shout of winning the race. Nico Rosberg however wasn’t at his best and shockingly so starts in the second row behind both Ferrari drivers and team mate Lewis Hamilton.

My predictions for Sundays race will once again back Lewis Hamilton to complete the hat-trick as this selection has more often than not come home to make me some nice cash profits. Last race I was backing Sebastian Vettel to finish on the podium and how close I became when he came so close to finishing in third position. But with one lap to go he had a tire blow which actually allowed Lotus driver Romain Grosjean to grab a rare top three finish. This time however I will once again back the Ferrari driver to finish in the top three, but to play it safe will go for the podium finish instead.
