Austrian Grand Prix Preview, Sunday 3rd July 2016.

The Austrian Grand Prix has been held in two different locations in its history, and it is now known as the Red Bull Ring, Formula 1 has been here for the last two years after not being on the calendar for ten seasons. The last two seasons that they have raced here it has only seen one driver win and that is Nico Rosberg, so I am sure he will want to make it three wins in a row here and be the only driver to do this in its history, however due to a crash in practice 3 he has to take a five place grid penalty so he will be starting seventh on the grid.

Another driver who will also be taken a five place grid penalty will be Sebastian Vettel due to changing his gearbox so he will be starting in ninth on the grid. Nico Hulkenberg had a great qualifying session and took third on the grid, but due to the penalty’s he will start in second but he will have to wait until he visits the stewards to see if he keeps his place, as he is under investigation to see if he lifted off the throttle enough for yellow flags in the first qualifying session.

The biggest surprise coming from the last qualifying session is that McLaren driver Jenson Button had a fantastic lap, and managed to finish fifth in the session but again due to the penalties will be starting third, possibly second. This is the first time that Jenson Button has managed to get into qualifying three this season.

Austrian Grand Prix Previous Winners.

Lewis Hamilton has a very good chance to stop his teammate Nico Rosberg winning here for the third time in a row, as Nico will be starting in seventh on the grid. This could be the first time that Lewis Hamilton could win here after gaining pole position for the second time.

Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix Race Predictions, Tips & Winner Bets.

This race could be an interesting watch with all the issues with the kerbs over the weekend, that maybe the cause of the broken suspensions on many of the cars. Also the penalty’s given out, so many drivers out of their usual position on the grid. This is a great opportunity for Lewis Hamilton to decrease the gap with his teammate in the championship, also for Nico Hulkenberg to gain some great points for the team on the back of the success in the last race.

Jenson Button is another driver who is out of his normal position he will be starting on the second row in third, he will be wanting to have a great start so who knows where he will finish, this race could be the best ever finish he could have this season.

My Banker will be for Lewis Hamilton to complete the hat-trick, he has already got pole, so as long as he gets a good start in Austria he could make it his first ever win here and will go on to get the fastest lap in the race.

Another prediction I shall be making will be for Kimi Raikkonen to finish on the podium, as he will be starting forth on the grid just behind Jenson Button. No doubt Kimi will make a great start and with the fact that he was extremely close to Jenson’s time in qualifying he will pass the British driver.
