Bradford City v Reading Preview, FA Cup Quarter Final, Saturday 7th March 2015

Bradford City are shocking everybody when it comes down to the countries most famous cup competition. Goodbye Millwall, goodbye Chelsea and goodbye Sunderland are a few of the dignitary’s  we can mention, not only that the game against Chelsea will be remembered as one of those all time greats! With them being 2 – 0 down only to come back and win the game 4 – 2 and even witnessing the Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho coming into their dressing room and giving his congratulations, no doubt still in shock with what he just witnessed. Bradford City are also the bookmakers favourites to win this game, even though it is ever so slightly. In respect of league places, they are only a fifteen places apart even though they are in two different divisions.

Reading had witnessed a great start to this year with some solid wins and draws, and only a couple of loses. Yet since the middle of February they seem to have declined dramatically in form having lost three and drawing once. They have also recorded the one win which was against tough opponents Ipswich Town away from home which is slightly worrying as they are now only ten points away from a relegation battle and a possible regular meeting with League One opponents Bradford City. Reading do have some tough challenges coming up in the Championship in the upcoming fixtures, and only some positive results will see them climb away from that potential scrap at the bottom of the table. I feel the more worrying thing to take into account, is the fact that Reading have only scored the two goals in their last five fixtures in the league.

Bradford City Team News:

Bradford City will be hoping Filipe Morais fitness is okay for this FA Cup tie as for the last three games he has been missing due to a knee injury. The winger scored against Chelsea in the forth round and will be hoping to light up the stage in this quarter final with a repeat against Reading. Gary Liddle has also returned to the possible starting line up, after now serving a two game ban.

Reading Team News:

Reading have slight doubts over the fitness of Simon Cox who has a sore ankle after the game against Bolton midweek. Veteran striker Yakuba is expected to be on the bench with Pavel Pogrebnyak the more likely to lead from the front. Reading are also still without Anton Ferdinand due to his calf, and then Jem Karacan with a knee issue.

Bradford City v Reading Head to Head Statistics:

In the last five head to head encounters we can see it is all evens between the two clubs. Yet me must also take into account that these two clubs have not met in over ten years. We have in total ten games played against each other, with both teams winning three each and settling for four draws.

On paper it is the League One club Bradford City who are in better form, yet that is only slightly with an extra win than their opponents. When it comes down to the form in the FA Cup we can’t help but commend Bradford City who have taken down the likes of Chelsea and fellow Premiership side Sunderland.

Bradford City v Reading  Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

FA Cup action once again kicks off with Bradford City looking to once again knock out another giant in Championship side Reading. The game can be seen live on BT Sports 1 High Definition and looks set to be packed full of excitement as fans and neutrals all around the world watch on and wonder can this League One side really continue in this amazing competition.

Both sides are really struggling with form recent and have only won three games between them in their last five fixtures. They have also lost five between them with Reading looking the worse and dropping down the Championship table. while Bradford City have won twice in their last five League One games, they are still only eight in the league and more than safe from relegation, unlike Readying who are starting to cut it rather fine.

My predictions for this FA Cup Quarter Final clash will see Bradford City progress into the semi final, while I do also feel Reading will put up a fight and cause a draw of some kind. So for the first I feel I will go for both teams to score and Bradford City to win, will I think the draw I may go for will be a correct score of 1 – 1 after ninety minutes.
