Arsenal v Norwich City Preview , Premiership, Saturday 30th April 2016.

Things are going from bad to worse for Arsenal who have now thrown away the chance of catching Leicester City up and potentially win the league. They are now twelve points behind the Premier League leaders and with only three games left to play can only finish in second place which does of course depend on bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspurs and third place Manchester City who are currently on joint points with better goal difference.

In the last five games they have only managed to win the two games against Watford and West Bromwich Albion and between them have thrown away points against West Ham United, Crystal Palace and relegation battling side Sunderland. They should easily dispatch Norwich City who are currently sitting in a relegation position, as well as the already relegated side Aston Villa. More excitingly though they also have to travel to The Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City, who themselves will be wanting to claim that top second or third place.

Norwich City have seen Sunderland produce the goods against Arsenal last week which in turn dropped themselves into the relegation positions due to a worse goal difference, and City themselves will be hoping to produce the same result as Sunderland in a bid to climb out of the bottom three. It of course didn’t help their cause when they lost at home to Sunderland 3 – 0 last weekend.

Norwich City like Sunderland both have four games left to play and to be honest it doesn’t look good as surely they will lose to the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United next. The clubs last two games are played at home to Watford who should be safe from relegation, and then finish off away from home to Everton. Depending on Sunderland’s results, Norwich City could be confirmed relegated by the time 90 minutes ends at home to Manchester United.

Arsenal Team News:

Finally some good news for Arsenal with play-maker Santi Cazorla back from injury and also available for the home game against Norwich. We also see Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain back from a knee injury which is also good news for England with the EURO’s coming up. Fellow midfielder Tomas Rosicky has also returned from a thigh injury although I highly doubt he will feature on Saturday.

Norwich City Team News:

The Norwich City captain Russell Martin could be available for the Arsenal game with him missing out in the loss to Sunderland last weekend due to a virus. We do see defenders Andre Wisdom and Timm Klose out injured with both having serious knee ligament damage.

Arsenal v Norwich City Head to Head Statistics:

In the last five head to head encounters we have seen Arsenal as the better side with three wins, a draw and the single loss back in 2012. I would of expected Arsenal to win all five of these matches however and will rue the chances missed when looking back to November when they drew 1 – 1. In total we have 49 games played with Arsenal winning 22 and losing the 9. Leaving 18 games having ended as a draw of some sort.

Previous Average Goals Per Game Statistics

In the 49 fixtures these two clubs have featured against each other there have been a total of 139 goals scored which is going to give us a goals per game average of 2.8. The way Norwich City are letting in goals that statistic could be more than viable in Saturdays game at The Emirates. The below selection is always going to be a popular choice.

Arsenal v Norwich City Recent Form All Competitions (Left to Right)

Arsenal: D W D D W

Norwich City: L L W W D

With Norwich City certain for the drop it can only be Arsenal who are the better team in form coming into this game having not lost in the last five fixtures in all competitions. Although Arsenal have dropped far too many points recently they will of course be the dead certs to win this game come Saturday evening.

Arsenal v Norwich City Match Betting Odds Market

Arsenal are the bookmakers clear and solid favourites to win this game at home on Saturday evening, and with them now unable to win the league due to their recent lack of form they can only now fight for pride in a bid to knock Tottenham Hotspurs off their perch. The best odds on Arsenal to win can be found here @ 2/7 with Betfred – Bet £10 Get £30 Free Bets when Registering a New Account

The Draw could be enough to drag Norwich City out of the relegation zone on Saturday, especially as Stoke City will be favourites to overturn Sunderland in the 3pm kick-off. Norwich City must appreciate by now that it is a must win game this Saturday and of course in their other remaining three games as the realization of relegation is quickly creeping up on them. Arsenal v Norwich City Match Predictions, Banker Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets

Premiership action this weekend continues to produce the excitement us footballing fans need as the biggest league in the world soon comes to a close. With a majority of teams only having a few games left to play it is now we potentially see the underdogs step up and pull off the unlikeliest of results against the divisions top sides. it will be no different here however when Arsenal face Norwich City at the beautiful ground of The Emirates.

Arsenal may well be at home for Saturdays fixture but I can imagine that means very little for Norwich City who will come into this game with a must win attitude or see themselves playing once again in the Championship having again faced the dreaded relegation. Arsene Wenger continues to fight against the clueless Arsenal fans who want the Frenchman gone, and have little regard for the manager who has done so much for the club in his long stay.

Norwich City were one of my favourites to face relegation at the end of the year and sit alongside Aston Villa who were also among my predictions to be playing Championship football next year. They are currently on joint points with Sunderland, but having lost 3 – 0 to them last weekend its not looking good for Norwich who still have Manchester United to face next week. They may finish against Watford and then Everton, but lets be honest can this club really earn anything from their remaining four games?

Sunderland also have some tough games with Chelsea at home still yet to play, and like Norwich City they also face Everton and Watford in their final two games of the season. If Sunderland do manage to win away from home to Stoke City then that certainly will spell relegation for Norwich City who in my eyes have very little chance of earning more than two points in their remaining four games.

My predictions for this game will see Arsenal wall away with an easy home win and I can only see plenty of goals scored with the likely return of Santi Cazorla looking to work his way back into this side after a lengthy time in the treatment room. For my banker prediction I feel going for a correct score is risky, yet feel very strongly that the Londoners will walk away 3 – 0 winners on the night. The other I am going for is Danny Welbeck to score anytime during the 90 minutes, and of course also for Arsenal to win the game.
