Tottenham Hotspur v Everton Preview, Premiership, Saturday 29th August 2015

Tottenham Hotspur have had a difficult start to the new season and any dreams of a top four finish already look long gone despite only three matches having been played. It seems that the manager Mauricio Pochettino continues to ignore the fact that his defence still needs strengthening as it has been the defence that has been the main problem again and unless the necessary changes are made Spurs will again be lucky to finish in the top six or seven places in the league table this season.

Everton have had a good start to their new season and although they did suffer their first defeat last weekend when losing 2-0 at home against Manchester City, the players will still be able to take some confidence from that game as they did create a number of chances and with Romelu Lukaku, Ross Barkley and Arouna Kone having all played well in the opening three matches the future certainly looks bright for Everton fans this season.

Tottenham Hotspur Team News:

The hosts will continue to be without midfield playmaker Christain Eriksen as he continue to receive treatment for a knee injury. The good news for Spurs fans though is that Andros Townsend is now available for selection having fully recovered from injury that has seen him miss the opening three matches of the new season and he should feature at some point during this match.

Harry Kane will once again lead the attack up front as he continues his search for his first goal of the new season and will receive support in behind by Chadli, Dembeli and Lamela.

Everton Team News:

Tim Howard, James McCarthy and Ross Barkley should all return to the starting lineup for this game after all three players started on the bench midweek in the 5-3 thrilling victory after extra time against Barnsley.

Gerard Deulofeu who has now fully recovered from a hamstring injury put in an impressive display having came on as a second half substitute in the midweek cup victory and he looks certain to be rewarded with a place in the starting lineup for this game.

Romelu Lukaku will lead the attack up front for the visitors and he will certainly cause the Spurs defence plenty of problems as he looks to add to his impressive hatrick scored midweek.

Tottenham Hotspur v Everton Head to Head Statistics:

Saturday evening’s match from White Hart Lane will become the 156th meeting between the two clubs over the years. Tottenham Hotspur have managed to secure 58 victories overall with 40 of these having come at White Hart Lane, where as Everton have managed 48 victories overall with just 16 of those having came away from home.

Our head to head statistics table below shows the last five matches played between the two clubs and as we can see it has been Tottenham Hotspur who have dominated proceedings having managed to win 3 times, compared to Everton failing to win any.

Previous Average Goals Per Game Statistics

436 Goals have been scored in the previous 155 matches played between the two clubs, which provides us with an average goals statistic of 2.82.

247 of those Goals have been scored in the 78 matches played between the two clubs at Goodison Park, which generates us with an average goals per game statistic of 3.17.

Both sets of data seem to indicate that we should see at least two or three goals scored in this game on Sunday afternoon and with Tottenham Hotspur’s shabby defence, it does look likely that Everton will be scoring the majority of them.

Tottenham Hotspur v Everton Match Betting Odds Market

Tottenham Hotspur are currently best price available of EVS with BetVictor – £50 Free Bets for New Customers, to win this game on Saturday evening which does come as a bit of a shock to me in all honesty and I can definitely see Everton having more than a fair chance of winning this match.

The Draw has happened twice between the two clubs in the previous five meetings and for me this is probably the best result I can see Spurs obtaining from this game and you can get on the draw at a current best price of 13/5 with Bet365 – £200 Matched Bonus Bets for New Customers.

Everton have looked very fluid in their opening three matches and were rather unlucky against Manchester City last weekend. Another performance like we have seen from Roberto Martinez’s side on Saturday evening should be enough to see them return back home with maximum points and the visitors are currently a best price of 10/3 with Coral – Deposit £5 & Receive £20 Free Bets for New Customers which looks the value play for me in this one.

Tottenham Hotspur v Everton Match Predictions, Banker Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets

Based on what we have seen from both clubs from their opening three matches it’s difficult to see Everton not winning this game as although their record at White Hart Lane in recent season’s has not been anything to write home about, they do look to have a more solid squad and with an attacking threat like Romelu Lukaku who heads into this game having scored a hatrick midweek, the visitors will obviously be very confident about their chances in this game.

Tottenham Hotpsur have not looked at all threatening when going forward in any of their three matches played and Daniel Levvy is probably kicking himself at not selling Harry Kane to Manchester United for 40 plus million pounds as the England striker really has done little if anything to suggest that he is worth anything close to that sort of price tag so far.

This fixture at White Hart Lane does have a tenadancy to produce a few goals and with the average goals per game statistics showing 3.17 goals per game, I fully expect this match to see it’s fair share come Saturday evening.

My Banker Free Tip is going to be for Everton to Win this match as for me they have started the season much better than Spurs and with a striker in red hot form and a defence that looks a lot more solid that Tottenham’s, they look great value at their current odds on offer.

My First Goalscorer Free Tip has to be Romelu Lukaku as he really is playing well at the moment and with Gerard Deulofeu providing support from out wide, the big Belgium striker should have no problem finding space in what is a very weak Tottenham Hotspur defence.
