Manchester United v Chelsea Preview

Manchester United head into this game having suffered another defeat over the weekend when going down 2-0 away against Stoke City and things are not looking at all good for boss Louis Van Gaal as we could clearly see from the look on his face when the full time whistle went to end the match.

United now face another difficult task when playing host to a seemingly rejuvenated Chelsea who under new boss Guss Hidink the players actually look like they want to win matches and but for a late penalty miss by Oscar in their match over the weekend against Watford, they would be heading into this match brimming with confidence as they did look the better side going forward.

Manchester United Team News:

The hosts will no doubt make at least a couple of changes to the side that lost 2-0 away to Stoke over the weekend, Wayne Rooney should return to the starting lineup having impressed when coming on as a second half substitute. Michael Carrick also looks likely to start this one in place of Marouane Fellaini who did not have the best of games in that defeat.

Chelsea Team News:

The visitors should remain unchanged from the side that drew 2-2 at home against Watford over the weekend, but striker Diego Costa will no be available due to a suspension having picked up his fifth yellow card after a wreckless tackle which could of seen him receive a straight red. Loic Remy will be the likely replacement up front.

448 Goals have been scored in the previous 154 matches played between the two clubs, which provides us with an average goals statistic of 2.91.

198 of those Goals have been scored in the 75 matches played between the two clubs at Old Trafford Stadium, which generates us with an average goals per game statistic of 2.64.

Both sets of data strongly indicate that this game is likely to see between 2 or 3 goals scored and Total Match Goals 2 or 3 looks a good option on the goalsmarket for this match.

Manchester United v Chelsea Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

I would expect Manchester United to play a lot better in this match than they did last time out against Stoke City and with Wayne Rooney likely to start this game, they do have a chance of picking up an important 3pts.

However, with some of their other key players still out injured they do look weak in certain area’s compared to the Chelsea lineup and for me the hosts are definitely worth taking on here as all the pressure will be on them to win this match.

Chelsea will be without Diego Costa for this game which is a major blow for the side as he did look to be back to his very best in the 2-2 draw against Watford in which he scored both goals, Loic Remy will no doubt come into replace him, but the jury is still out about whether or not he has what it takes to fill Diego Costa’s boots.

Onto some predictions then and my Banker Free Tip will be for Both Teams to Score as this looks great value and looking at the average goals per game statistics we should be in for at least a few goals scored in this game.

My First Goalscorer Tip is going to be for Chelsea attacking midfielder Oscar as I would expect him to try and make up for his late penalty miss against Watford over the weekend which would of sealed all 3pts for his side.
