Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester City Preview, Premiership, Saturday 26th September 2015.

Tottenham Hotspurs this week have already played in the Capital One Cup, in which they lost at home to bitter rivals Arsenal in a 2 – 1 exciting encounter. Mathieu Flamini was the bane of North London on Wednesday when he scored both of Arsenals goals, and sadly for Spurs they didn’t even manage to score themselves as Callum Chambers managed to put the ball into his own net which gifted Tottenham Hotspurs the equalizer. Some positives for Spurs is that their opponents did manage to lose their last Premiership game, which did in fact end Manchester City’s 100% winning domestic run. With the lunchtime kick off looming ever closer, we do see it is Manchester City who are the favourites to win this match away from home, as Spurs don’t exactly have the best of records against them.

Manchester City nipped it in the bud on Tuesday, as another loss would certainly not of been a welcoming result after losing at home to Juventus in the Champions League, as well as West Ham United at The Etihad. Away from home on Tuesday they laid siege to Sunderland with a 4 – 1 romp, with them actually scoring all of their goals in the first thirty six minutes of the match. The consolation goal for Sunderland came seven minutes from time when City became slack and conceded via a Ola Toivonen effort. Manchester City will no doubt be the favourites to win their next five fixtures, with two of them being in the Champions League group stage against Borussia M’gladback and the Spaniards Sevilla.

Tottenham Hotspur Team News:

Ryan Mason was rumoured to potentially make his return from a knee injury, yet seems he hasn’t made the recovery at first hoped and will now miss out against Manchester City on Saturday. Moussa Dembele and Nabil Bentaleb are also missing and both are out with an ankle issue. Harry Kane has struggled to find the net this season in the Premiership, yet his manager has said he has no issues in regards to his starting position just yet.

Manchester City Team News:

Club captain Vincent Kompany has returned from injury and could play in some part of the game on Saturday, the Belgian has been missing with a calf muscle strain. Samir Nasri is missing yet again and seems a constant figure on and off the injury list for City. Gael Clichy is out with an injured ankle while new signing Fabian Delph is out with his hamstring.

Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester City Head to Head Statistics:

In the last five head to head battles we have seen Manchester City pretty much dominate with the last four of the fixtures all being easy wins. Spurs last won back in 2013 at home in an epic encounter, but have since then lost their last two fixtures to City at home. We have recorded 129 head to heads over the years in which City only just come out on top with 50 victories. Spurs have won 49 with the other 30 games all ending as draws.

Previous Average Goals Per Game Statistics

In the 129 games played out between the two clubs we have seen a total of 373 goals scored, this is going to give us a goals per game average of 2.9. Which as you can see above is very far out from previous encounters. That said I’d still rather play safe and go for the below option.

Tottenham Hotspur: L W W W D

Manchester City: W L L W W

On paper it is in fact the home side Tottenham Hotspurs who are showing as the better team in form right now, although it is only in the last three games Manchester City seemed to have dipped. That said I would still be inclined to favour Manchester City as Spurs don’t exactly have the best of history against the Manchester club.

Tottenham Hotspur may well be at home against City, but are far from being selected as favourites via the bookmakers. The best possible odds for the London based club to win can be currently found here @ 14/5 with Coral – Bet £5 & Get £20 Free when Registering a New Account.

The Draw hasn’t been a result seen in recent years with Manchester City winning four out of the last five head to heads. So the best odds on the two actually drawing the game can be found here @ 14/5 with Bet365 – Receive £200 Matched Bets when You Register a New Account

Manchester City are as expected the solid favourites to win the game this Saturday lunchtime even though they are away from home. They have won the last two away games at White Hart Lane which does include the 5 – 1 hammering in 2014. Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester City Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Premiership action Saturday Lunchtime comes live from White Hart Lane and can be viewed on BT Sports 1 High Definition. The game features home side Tottenham Hotspurs verses Manchester City in what has the potential to be a very high scoring game if previous results are anything to go by. Manchester City are the solid favourites to win the game, which comes as no surprise seeing as though they have won four out of their last five encounters.

Manchester City have been in amazing from in the Premiership and did have a 100% record up until last weekend when they welcomed West Ham United to The Etihad. West Ham managed to come away 2 – 1 winners and add another potential league winner to the growing amount of scalps they have picked up this season. Tottenham Hotspurs have only lost the once also in the Premiership, with that being to Manchester United away from home in the first game of the campaign. They did also lose on Wednesday when Arsenal knocked them out of the Capital One Cup third round.

My predictions for this game will of course be backing that of away team Manchester City, as I do feel the game they lost against West Ham United was only a slight hiccup. So for the first I am going to go for a correct score of Manchester City to win the game 3 – 1 after ninety minutes. The next being both teams to score in the game and for Manchester City to win the game.
