Everton v Manchester United Preview, Premiership, Sunday 26th April 2015

It has been a good couple of months for Everton FC as the club has recorded four wins from their last five league games and the fans now seem to have had their faith restored in manager Roberto Martinez.

Sunday afternoon’s game against Manchester United will provide a chance to secure their fifth win from six matches and with home advantage and some key players now back from injury, the hosts obviously have a big chance of winning this game.

Manchester United have also enjoyed some good results over the past couple of months and also head into this game having won four of their last five league matches played.

However, the 1-0 defeat away against league leaders Chelsea last weekend will have brought the players back down to earth a bit and it will be interesting to see if that loss has effected the confidence of the squad as this is a must win game for Louis Van Gaal’s side if they are to stay in contention for a UEFA Champions League group place.

Everton Team News:

The hosts have almost a full squad to choose their starting lineup from, but will be without Steven Pienaar who is still struggling with a muscle problem.

Leon Osman and James McCarthy have both resumed training with the team this week and both are now available for selection, along with striker Romelu Lukaku who suffered no further effects to his recent injury having came on as a substitute in last weekend’s victory against Burnley.

Manchester United Team News:

The visitors will be without the services of Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo, Rafael and Michael Carrick and both Daley Blind and Adnan Januzaj will under take a late fitness test to see if they can be involved. Centre back Jonny Evans returns from suspension and is likely to feature.

Everton vs Manchester United Match Betting Odds Market

Everton are playing very well at the moment and with home advantage obviously have more than a fair chance of winning this game, so it does surprise me a little to see the online bookmakers offering up a current best price of 11/4 with Coral – Deposit £5 & Receive £20 Free Bets for New Customers.

The Draw is probably worth getting something on as your main cover bet here as both teams head into this game in decent form and with United having drawn 4 of their last 9, the current best price available of 5/2 with Ladbrokes – £25 Free Bets for New Customers, does look good value.

Manchester United will be looking to bounce back from their defeat at Stamford Bridge last weekend and their current best price available of 6/5 with Betfred – Bet £10 & Receive £30 Free Bets for New Customers does also look good value here in what is looking likely to be a very close game indeed.

Everton vs Manchester United Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

If this game had taken place a few months ago then I would definitely be picking Manchester United to win this game as Everton really did go through a bad few months and with their fans constantly demanding their manager to be sacked, it did look like Everton were going to be in a real fight for their Premiership league survival.

However, things have certainly taken a turn for the better for the hosts and you can see the restored confidence in every player in each game they play and with home advantage where they have a good record against Manchester United and Romelu Lukaku back in the starting lineup, I do believe Everton can get at least something out of this game on Sunday afternoon.

Manchester United suffered their first defeat in the league since the 21st February when losing 1-0 away against Chelsea last weekend and many people did question the formation that manager Louis Van Gaal opted to go with that day and I would expect to see the formation restored to how it was before that defeat with Rooney acting as the main striker and support in behind being provided by Fellaini, Mata and Ashley Young.

My Banker prediction for this match is going to be for Both Teams to Score as at the current odds available I do think this is a great value bet and one that could be successful even before the half time whistle blows if the strikers have their finishing boots on.

My Saver is going to be for this game to finish in either a 1-1 or 2-2 Draw as with very little to separate the two sides on recent form, it certainly wouldn’t surprise many people to see this game finish all square come the full time whistle.
