Real Madrid v Osasuna Preview, Primera La Liga, Saturday 26th April 2014

Its been a great few months for Real Madrid where they have seen themselves win the Copa del Rey and are set for an exciting finish with the battle for first hotting up. Not only this but they also knocked out Borussia Dortmund in the quarter finals of the Champions League and now also lead last years champions Bayern Munich 1 – 0 on aggregate with a visit to Germany their next stop. Bayern Munich have been very predictable in recent months and teams have started to understand how to effectively set themselves up against them. Granted they are still extremely dangerous but if Real Madrid do manage to play like they did at home next week then we could see them in the final against Chelsea or Atletico Madrid.

Osasuna have started to put some positive results together and have only lost once in their last five league games which was against Rayo Vallecano away from home. With three draws and a win it has still earned the club six points which if different would now be seeing the club in the relegation zone. With just four games remaining there is only one game that could be classed as easy, and that is their last fixture which is against the relegated Real Betis who I cant see putting up too much of a fight. They also face Celta de Vigo at home which is another close game and then away from home to Espanyol which could prove to be difficult.

Real Madrid v Osasuna Team News

Real Madrid Team News:

Real Madrid are without a few players for this game. Arbeloa is the first with a knee injury while German international Sami Khedira and Spanish star Jese Rodriguez are both out with crucial knee ligament damage. Khedira has been missing for a majority of the season and sadly I cant see him joining the German plane to Rio for the World Cup in June.

Osasuna Team News:

Osasuna are missing four players for this game, two due to injuries which are Lolo with a torn hamstring while Sisi is missing with crucial knee ligament damage. The other two missing are Roberto Torres and Silva who are both suspended due to reaching a yellow card limit.

Real Madrid v Osasuna Head to Head Statistics

I was kind of expecting Real Madrid to dominate all of these 5 head to head results but to my shock you can see that Osasuna have managed to earn two well fought draws. In total however, we have seen these two clubs meet 31 times in the past. With Real Madrid winning 19 of these and Osasuna winning an impressive 5 times. We also see 7 draws in total with 3 of these at the Bernabeu.

Previous Average Goals Per Game Statistics

In these 31 games played in the past we have recorded 91 goals in total, which is giving us an average of 2.9 goals per game. This statistic could be a little unreliable this season being as Osasuna are in terrible form and Real Madrid scoring a lot of goals past most opponents.

Real Madrid v Osasuna Recent Form (Left to Right)

Real Madrid: W L W W W

Osasuna: L D W D D

Well its without doubt here that Real Madrid are the team in better form having just beaten Bayern Munich at home in the semi-finals of the Champions League. Osasuna however have been pulling in a point here and there which is allowing them to stay three points outside the relegation zone although with only four games remaining they could be struggling come the end of the season.

Real Madrid v Osasuna Match Betting Odds Market.

Real Madrid are as expected the clear and absolute favourites for this game on Sunday with them chasing Atletico Madrid for that La Liga title. The bookmakers best odds are currently set here @ 1/16 with Coral – Receive £50 Free Bets when Registering a New Account.

The Draw is an option I would steer clear of as the only result I foresee is a Real Madrid victory at the Bernabeu. The bookies are not fancying the draw either with such high odds. The best can be seen found here @ 14/1 with BetVictor – £25 Free Bets For New Customers Registering an Account.

Osasuna are seen as having no hope of a win here this Saturday. They need a few points to stay away from the relegation battle zone but a win against these high flyers I just cannot see. The bookmakers are setting incredibly high odds which are found here @ 40/1 with BetVictor – £25 Free Bets For New Customers Registering an Account.

Real Madrid v Osasuna Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

With the bookmakers odds heavily favoring Real Madrid for the win here on Saturday my question will be by how much. Osasuna maybe grabbing the odd point here and there but do not look dangerous on the attack and their defence I feel will become hopeless against the likes of Gareth Bale, Di Maria and Cristiano Ronaldo to name a few.

Real Madrid will need a win without fail here on Saturday if they are to continue the fight for the Spanish La Liga title. Which right now is Atletico Madrid’s to lose with them being three points clear if Real win this game. We have seen Barcelona slip up to worst teams this season which is seriously out of character and if they are themselves to win the title it will be a miracle. Osasuna are only three points above the relegation zone and with four games and twelves points left up for grabs you cant help but worry for them. As Saturdays game must be a loss I feel and then they need to face Espanyol who are a good side on their day.

My predictions for this game will no doubt favor Real Madrid for the win as however much I like an underdog to win I just cannot see it happening at the expense of Madrid. So my first prediction will be for Real Madrid to win and a goal tally of Over 4.5 goals which is more than doable I feel. The other I am going for is Cristiano Ronaldo to score a hat-trick as I feel he is due another.
