Manchester United v Manchester City Preview, Premiership, Sunday 25th October 2015

Manchester United head into this game on Sunday afternoon knowing that a victory will put them above their arch rivals and depending on other results, even the top of the league table and that should be more than enough incentive for the players to give their manager and their fans 100% in this match.

United easily beat Everton 3-0 last weekend in the league, but could only manage a 1-1 draw away against CSKA Moscow midweek in the UEFA Champions League, but that was not a bad result considering how the Russian side have been playing this season and manager Louis Van Gaal will no doubt be quitely confident about his sides chances in this one.

Manchester City currently lead the way at the top of the league table and comfortably beat Bournemouth 5-1 last weekend in the league at the Etihad Stadium, they then also went on to win their midweek UEFA Champions League game with a late winner away against Sevilla and although they are still missing their top striker Sergio Aguero, most neutrals would probably see the visitors just edge this game on Sunday afternoon.

Manchester United Team News:

Luke Shaw (leg) and Paddy McNair (liver) are the only injury concerns for Van Gaal. United winger Ashley Young (thigh) is back in training but is not ready to play on Sunday after missing three weeks.

Wayne Rooney and Martial will lead the attack up front for the hosts.

Manchester City Team News:

David Silva (ankle) and Sergio Aguero (hamstring) lead their lengthy injury list. Fabian Delph (hamstring), Gael Clichy (ankle) and Samir Nasri (hamstring) are also out, while Pellegrini hinted in his press conference that he could use Kevin de Bruyne as a striker at Old Trafford.

Centre-back Vincent Kompany is in contention having now fully recovered from a recent injury and looks likely to start this game.

Based on both sets of data shown above, it does seem to indicate that this game should see a minimum of at least two goals scored and a strong possibility that both teams will get on the score-sheet.

Manchester United v Manchester City Match Predictions, Banker Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets

This result on Sunday afternoon could go a long way to deciding which of these two clubs will win the Premiership league title and with very little love loss between the players, I for one am expecting a very hard fought game with plenty of bookings.

United will be in confident mood having beaten City 4-2 at Old Trafford last April when the two sides last met each other and with Wayne Rooney and Martial leading the attack up front, I would expect the hosts to score at least once during this match.

However, I am not sure that one goal will be enough to beat Manchester City as although they are still missing Sergio Aguero from their lineup, I do believe the visitors have slightly the stronger squad on paper and with Vincent Kompany back marshalling the defence I think the visitors can win this game.

Onto some predictions then and my Banker Free Tip for this match is going to be for Both Teams to Score & Manchester City to Win as for me this looks great value in a game that should see both teams get on the score-sheet and then push hard for the winner and with City having slightly the stronger squad, they look the more likely to get that all important second goal.

My First Goalscorer Free Tip will be Manchester City’s pacey winger Raheem Sterling as with the player having bagged a hatrick last weekend in the 5-1 demolotion of Bournemouth, he will be eager to keep his goalscoring run going.
