Brighton & Hove Albion v Watford Preview, Championship, Saturday 25th April 2015

Brighton & Hove Albion have very little to worry about with only two games left to play, because even if Millwall win both of their games and Brighton & Hove lose theirs they will still avoid relegation due to the goal difference. We need to be honest as well and state that the chance of them losing both remaining games is very high, as Watford and Middlesbrough are both fighting for that automatic promotion place. Millwall also need to play Derby County and Wolverhampton Wanderers who are fighting for those play off positions so are unlikely to challenge too much, and unless they themselves provide a miracle they will be going down a division come the end of the season.

Watford have surpassed the odds this season and find themselves in pole position to win the Championship and head up into the Premiership, something that hasn’t happened since back in during the 2006/07 season when the likes of Manchester Uniteds Ashley Young was playing as a youth. Watford have a very easy run until the end of the season with Brighton & Hove Albion having nothing left to fight for as they have avoided relegation by the skin of a hair. The clubs last game is against Sheffield Wednesday at home, who are also a team with nothing to fight for but a few possible table places. Both of Watford’s final Championship games are live on TV so you as neutrals of fans can all enjoy them possibly finish as champions.

Brighton & Hove Albion Team News:

Brighton & Hove Albion are a side who have struggled to find goals all season, with their top scorer, Joao Carlos only scoring the six league goals. Their strikers Sam Baldock (6) and Chris O’Grady (1) clearly have been struggling to find the net all season and if they want to survive next year then surely things must improve.

Watford Town Team News:

Watford on the other hand are firing in from all angles with both Troy Deeney (20) and Odion Ighalo (20) netting forty goals between them. Fellow striker Matej Vydra has also been on target with fourteen goals to himself. Plenty of goals from the midfield also with Abdi (9) and Tozser (5) also which have no doubt seen Watford succeed.

Brighton & Hove Albion v Watford Recent Form All Competitions (Left to Right)

Brighton & Hove Albion: L D L L L

Watford: W W W W D

Watford are the clear winners here when it comes down to form and have done extremely well to come out on top with two games left to complete. Brighton & Hove Albion have only just avoided the relegation drop and if Millwall miraculously win both and Brighton lose theirs then goal difference comes into play, in which Brighton & Hove win.

Brighton & Hove Albion v Watford Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Championship action this Saturday lunchtime comes live from Sky Sports 1 High Definition and features Brighton & Hove Albion against league leaders Watford at The American Express Community Stadium. The home side have nothing to play for but pride in their last two games, where as Watford’s hopes of winning the Championship all depend on winning their last two league results.

Brighton & Hove Albion have just escaped relegation even if they lose their last two Championship games against Watford and Middlesbrough. As Millwall’s goal difference is so far below that of Brighton & Hove’s, that is what could be the final result. Although it is unlikely that Millwall win their last two games, especially as them themselves face two play off chasing teams. Watford need to make sure they win both of their remaining games, although if Bournemouth and Middlesbrough both lose this weekend, then just the one win will complete the task of winning the Championship title.

My predictions for this game will see Watford put in a professional performance and eventually break down this Brighton & Hove Albion side to win the game on the day. Once the one goal does go in, I do feel there will be another so a 2 – 0 correct scoreline will be my first. The next is going to be for Watford to win the game after going behind in the game. I just feel with nerves potentially there on show we could see Watford slip up. But I do feel they will bring it back and win the game come the end of ninety minutes.
