Manchester City v Tottenham Hotspur Preview, Premiership, Sunday 24th November 2013

Manchester City look to keep up the good home record for this season, with having only lost their to European Champions Bayern Munich at the beginning of October the last time they did lose at the Etihad Stadium in a competitive match was against Norwich City at the end of last season. Spurs could prove to be a very tough test for Manuel Pellegrini’s side even though they did also lose last week.

Tottenham Hotspurs currently sit 1 point above their opponents Manchester City coming into this game on Sunday, much to the disappointment of the games away fans as they would rather be fighting at the top like they have now become accustomed to. With a win for Spurs on Sunday it could push them even closer to their bitter rivals Arsenal who currently sit top of the Premiership only 5 points clear.

Manchester City v Tottenham Hotspur Team News

Manchester City Team News:

Sadly for Manchester City fans and manager Pellegrini doubts are still there over club captain Vincent Kompany’s fitness as he struggles to recover from a thigh injury in time for Sunday. We will also unlikely see David Silva who has just returned from a calf injury and will not want to be risked as he looks to spend another week minimum in recovery time. We are still not sure who will start in goal for City, with Pellegrini commenting on Joe Hart insisting he may still need to be rested and ignores the fact it is about his poor form and recent continued blunders.

Tottenham Hotspur Team News:

Although the injury isn’t as hugely feared as originally believed, we still see Christian Eriksen out for a month due to the ankle injury he picked up in international week. We also still see Danny Rose sidelined with a toe injury picked up back in September. We could however see Zeki Fryers and Nacer Chadli return to action as they are once again deemed fit to be selected. We also hear Spurs manager Villas-Boas has revealed that Emmanuel Adebayor is in contention to make his first appearance of the season and against his old club.

Manchester City v Tottenham Hotspur Head to Head Statistics

Although Tottenham Hotspurs managed a win at home to Manchester City in their previous match it has been Manchester City who have dominated since back in 2010. Having won 4 and drawing 1 and just the 1 loss in the last 6 games would indicate that City have the advantage here.

Previous Average Goals Per Game Statistics

A really nice total of 19 goals have been scored in the last 5 head to head battles which would give us a high average of 3.8 goals per game. So come Sunday lunchtime we can hope to see some goals fly into either of the nets as it looks to be a promising game for any neutral.

Manchester City v Tottenham Hotspur Recent Form (Left to Right)

Manchester City: L W W W L

Tottenham Hotspur: L W D W W

With Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspurs losing last Sunday it has once again provided those beautiful twists we so often see in the greatest league in the world. Spurs however come out trumps here in regards to form statistics having drawn that extra game where as Manchester City fell to another loss, this time to Chelsea who are bigger opponents than Sunderland who were bottom of the league until their shock 1 – 0 win.

Manchester City are firm favourites for this clash and I can only imagine it is down to City being at home, especially with the form Spurs are in. The best odds are found here @ 8/11 with Paddy Power – Receive £50 Free Bets when Registering a New Account.

Manchester City v Tottenham Hotspur Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

I can envision an exciting game on Sunday for any football neutral with both teams losing last week to north eastern teams Sunderland and Newcastle who have both been struggling for results, especially Sunderland who landed a shock win over Premiership favourite contenders Manchester City. Spurs are also being touted as a possible title winning side although manager AVB has quickly killed that suggestion insisting it is too early for them to be considered contenders.

So Sunday’s game looks to be a great one with both teams in similar form and the more recognized for silverware not where they should currently be with sitting below Tottenham and a point behind. Not only that they are 6 points behind current league leaders Arsenal which is a shock with the team City are displaying.

Anyway, my prediction on Sunday is for Manchester City to win 3 – 1 and for Sergio Aguero to score first which is giving incredible odds right now. My other prediction comes for Manchester City to WIN both halves in the 90 minutes which is showing some nice odds right now at BetVictor.
