Swindon Town v Chelsea Preview, Capital One Cup, Tuesday 24th September 2013
Swindon Town have had an okay start to the season having bought in 10 points in 5 matches in the league and did well in the last round of the Capital One Cup where they manage to knock out Harry Redknapp’s Queens Park Rangers 2 goals to nil back at the end of August where Ranger put them in front 7 minutes before the break and then Alex Pritchard fired home in the final minute of the game to earn the away side a well deserved win.
Chelsea managed to end their bad form this weekend with a win at home to local rivals Fulham with goals from Oscar and also a rare goal from Mikel to give them a much needed win, it took a while to break down Martin Jol’s side and it was the 52nd minute when Oscar managed to bundle home a deflection to put his side in front. Fulham were close to equalizing before Terry headed down a ball into Mikel’s path for him to scissor kick into the net.
Swindon Town v Chelsea Team News
Swindon Town Team News:
Swindon Town are still missing Ryan Mason with a thigh injury and also Ryan Harley to medial ligament damage which leaves Mark Coopers side very light in the middle of the park but with loan player Alex Pritchard again available after a suspension which will indeed boost their numbers. Sadly they are also still without right back Nathan Byrne who still has 1 game remaining of his 3 match ban.
Chelsea Team News:
With Jose Mourinho dropping Spanish midfielder Juan Mata and Brazilian center-back David Luiz after they recently failed to impress their new boss in regards to carrying out the sides intended tactics, and in the Fulham game it very much looked like he needed both of the star men as Chelsea struggled early on to make a big enough impact.

Chelsea have had a torrid few weeks but recently found old form with a convincing win over Fulham at the weekend, but Swindon Town are also in not bad form so depending on what team Chelsea play tomorrow night will depend on if Swindon have a chance to progress.

Swindon Town v Chelsea Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.
Although Swindon Town are known as giant killers when it comes to cup matches I cannot see Jose Mourinho wanting to lose this game knowing the impatient eyes of owner Roman Abramovich are upon him already with the poor start Chelsea have made so far in their campaign. With that said I can see the Chelsea coach playing the likes of Mata and Luiz who missed out in last weekends game and I can also see him sticking with Eto’o up front in hopes that he finds his shooting boots to kick start his goal account, but even if the Cameroon striker doesn’t start you still have the Spanish option in Fernando Torres who I am sure is eager to get 90 minutes under his belt.
So I am going for a Chelsea 4 – 0 win even though they are away and with the odds at Sky Bet having a price boost I feel we are seeing great odds here, the other I am going for is for Torres to score a brace because if he does start then he will feel he has something to prove here and give his manager something to think about in who should be the first choice striker for Chelsea.
