Leicester City v Swansea City Preview, Premiership, Sunday 24th April 2016.

We have a weekend of excitement with the FA Cup semi final and of course the incredible run in to the end of the season with just four games left to play in the Premier League. The current league leaders Leicester City sit five points clear of second placed Tottenham Hotspurs and will arrive at the King Power Stadium in a positive must win mood. Although they will be without their talisman Jamie Vardy up front they really should walk away from this encounter with all three points.

We did see West Ham United recently come to the King Power Stadium and walk away with a point after the game ended 2 – 2. A result which was in fact both lucky and unlucky for the league leaders. Leicester were winning the game after Vardy scored in the first twenty minutes only for West Ham United to somehow score twice in the last six minutes of the match. With Vardy being sent off before the hour mark it was always going to be tough for The Foxes. Deep into injury time a mistake by The Hammers allowed Ulloa to equalize from the penalty spot to earn a draw.

Although Swansea City should be safe they still could possibly be relegated if they manage to lose all of their remaining games and of course Sunderland and the other teams below Swansea manage to somehow win all of their remaining fixtures. It’s unlikely though so I am sure the Welsh club are not exactly panicking too much even though they still have Liverpool, West Ham United and Manchester City still to face after this Sundays game to title chasing Leicester City.

In the last five games they have managed to pick up seven points with wins over the relegated Aston Villa and current Champions Chelsea, and then of course the 2 – 2 draw away from home to Stoke City at the beginning of the month. Yet loses to AFC Bournemouth and Newcastle United have come as a surprise especially after the better form seen from the club. AFC Bournemouth are just above Swansea City with an extra point so again just need a couple of points to avoid the drop, where as Newcastle United are fighting to stay in the Premiership with them currently on course for relegation.

Leicester City Team News:

The more popular news right now is of Jamie Vardy’s suspension having recieved two yellow cards in the 2 – 2 draw at home to West Ham United recently. The England striker misses this game and also could miss the game against Manchester United. The clubs only injury worry right now is that of Matty James who has almost been out for a year with a serious knee injury. The midfielder is also very unlikely to feature at all for the first team this season.

Swansea City Team News:

Swansea City see the return of midfielder Jack Cork after recovering from a face injury he picked up in the 3 – 0 defeat to Newcastle United last week. We could also see the return of Leon Britton after he’s missed the last two games with a back issue. The news is the side shouldn’t change too much even after the loss to relegation battling side Newcastle.

Leicester City v Swansea City Head to Head Statistics:

In the last five games played we have seen Leicester City come out on top with three wins and a couple of loses. In total we only have eight games featured against each other with Leicester City winning a total of five, and Swansea City the remaining three. I for one cannot see this Sundays game ending in a draw so it could potentially be next year for the clubs first. I can also say that Swansea City have yet to win at the King Power Stadium, which is promising for Leicester City who are surging on to their first ever Premier League title.

Previous Average Goals Per Game Statistics

In the eight games featured against each other we have seen a total of nineteen goals scored which is of course going to give us a goals per game average of 2.3, and looking at the above table it is a solid bet I am sure. I do see Leicester City scoring the majority of the goals come Sunday, even without the likes of Jamie Vardy up front. Take the below option with the best odds here.

Leicester City have been exceptional all season and continue to defy all the odds while still five points clear atop the league table and in contention for the clubs first ever Premiership title win. Swansea City haven’t been anywhere near as good this season and no where near the finish they were looking for with the club usually seen as a mid table side. They are just ten points away from relegation, and with the remaining games they have i can’t see them earning another point this season.

Leicester City are the favourites to win this game at home and could once again go eight points clear atop the table with Tottenham Hotspurs not playing until Monday evening. The Draw has yet to be seen by these two clubs with only eight games having been recorded. Could we see the first draw on Sunday? I personally highly doubt it even though Leicester City are without the clubs top striker Jamie Vardy. Swansea City should be safe from relegation although in their remaining four games I seriously cannot see them picking up any points. Leaving the club in a worrying state if the lower teams do somehow manage to win all of their remaining games. Leicester City v Swansea City Match Predictions, Banker Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets

Premiership and FA Cup action galore this weekend with this game all about the title challengers Leicester City still on tract to shock the world of football. Having nearly been relegated last year they now sit a healthy five points clear atop the table ahead of the likes of Tottenham Hotspurs who themselves play Monday night. The game can be viewed live on Sky Sports 1 High Definition and I can see it potentially providing plenty of excitement as the world sits and waits for the unlikely to lift the Premiership trophy.

That of course wont be happening this weekend as Tottenham Hotspurs are still close on The Foxes tails and still in with a chance to win the title. Leicester City do still have some tough games left to play with trips to Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge to face Manchester United and Chelsea still left to play. Sundays game against Swansea City will not be a walkover either, or will the home game against Everton who are playing an FA Cup semi final at Wembley this Saturday.

If Leicester City do win however it will leave them eight points clear at the top until Monday evening when West Bromwich Albion travel to White Hart Lane to face Spurs. I cannot see the London club losing that game so we should be back to a five point gap leading into next weekends set of games. The Welsh club next play Liverpool at home which is set to be an extremely tough game, especially as Liverpool are in some fine form leading up to the end of the season.

Swansea City also have tough games against West Ham United away from home who are still fighting for that top four or five finish and then also Manchester City in Wales who are still in contention to finish in third ahead of Arsenal who seem to be faltering in recent weeks. So basically I can envision no points earned for Swansea City in their final four games of the season which could leave some hope for the five teams below them to climb above. That does of course depend if they can also manage to win all of their remaining games, which is again, unlikely.

My predictions for Sundays game does of course see Leicester City to win, and although they are missing Jamie Vardy for the first time this season I still think they have plenty of other talents to step up and score them the goals needed. So for my first prediction I am thinking about Leicester City to win with Leonardo Ulloa to score in the ninety minutes, which is also set at an enhanced odds right now. The next I am going for is Shinji Okazaki to score anytime during the game.
