Cardiff City v Wolves Preview, Championship, Saturday 22nd August 2015

Cardiff City have had a steady start to their new season campaign, but need to improve slightly if they are avoid losing touch with the teams above them as although Russell Blade’s side have yet to lose a game from their opening three matches played, they have also failed to win any of them and that is obviously a big concern for the club and their fans.

Wolves are fancied by many people to gain at least a promotion play off finish this season, but they have not had the best of starts either having managed to win one of their three matches played and their 3-2 defeat against Queens Park Rangers last time out will obviously still be fresh in the players minds for this one.

Cardiff Team News:

The hosts look likely to be mainly unchanged to the starting lineup that drew against Blackburn Rovers last weekend, but both Craig Noone and Kenwyne Jones will be hoping to start as the attack up front has looked a bit weak so far from their opening three matches played.

Wolves Team News:

The visitors look likely to make some changes having basicly given the points to Queens Park Rangers last weekend and Nouha Dicko is one of a couple of players that could find himself on the bench for this game. Ethan Ebanks Landell could be handed a place in the defence to firm things up for the visitors and Liverpool loanee Seyi Ojo could also be in line for a start.

Cardiff City v Wolves Head to Head Statistics:

Saturday evening’s game from Cardiff City Stadium will become the 30th meeting between the two clubs over the years, of which Cardiff City have won 9 with 5 of those having came with home advantage where as Wolves have managed 12 victories, with 6 of those having came away from home.

Previous Average Goals Per Game Statistics

98 Goals have been scored in the previous 29 meetings between the two clubs and this provides us with an overall average goals per game statistic of 3.38.

58 of those Goals have came in the 15 previous matches played at Cardiff City Stadium and this generates us an average goal scoring statistic of 3.87.

Based on both sets of data shown above, it does seem to indicate that this game should see a minimum of at least two or three goals scored and betting markets like Both Teams to Score and Over 2.5 Goals both look good places to concentrate on for this game.

Cardiff City v Wolves Match Predictions, Banker Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets

Another tough game to be really confident of predicting a clear winner from as although Wolves do have a good record away against Cardiff City, they did surrender a two goal lead against Queens Park Rangers last time out and it does seem that their defence is the problem and I can see Cardiff City getting on the score-sheet at least once during this match as a result.

Cardiff City have managed to score in each of their three previous matches this season and although their record at home against Wolves is not that great, I do expect them to come away from this game as the more likely winners, but that does all depend on whether or not Craig Noone and Kenwyne Jones start this game for the hosts.

The safer option from a betting point of view does seem to be the goals market as the average goals per game statistics are strongly in favour of this match seeing at least a few goals grace the back of the nets come Saturday evening and as such my Banker Free Tip is going to be Both Teams to Score.

My First Goalscorer Free Tip is going to be Craig Noone as if he starts this match, I would expect him to get his name on the score-sheet at some point during this match as he has started the season well in front of goal.
