Arsenal v West Bromwich Albion Preview, Premiership, Thursday 21st April 2016

Arsenal head into this game having yet again dropped points over the weekend when only managing a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace and that has really put the pressure on the players and manager Arsene Wenger who now look destined to finish below arch rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

The Arsenal fans have made their voices clearly heard this season and with Wenger once again failing to produce the goods this season, it does seem as his time at the club is now very limited indeed and failure to win this game on Thursday night would surely be the final straw that broke the camels back.

West Brom have had a poor season by their standards and are by far from safe of relegation as although they are 10pts ahead of Sunderland and 11pts ahead of Newcastle United, both of those teams have had positive results in the past couple of weeks and will definitely be fighting hard in all of their remaining matches, so it is of vital importance that West Brom pick up at least another 4 or 5pts to really be certain of survival.

Arsenal Team News (Courtesy of PremierLeague.com):

Jack Wilshere has been continuing his comeback from a fractured ankle with Arsenal’s Under-21 side but is not yet fit enough to return to first-team action, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (knee) and Santi Cazorla (Achilles) remain sidelined.

West Bromwich Albion Team News (Courtesy of PremierLeague.com):

West Brom manager Tony Pulis is still unable to call upon Alex Pritchard (thigh), Chris Brunt (knee) and James Morrison (hamstring) who all remain injured on the sidelines.

376 Goals have been scored in the previous 124 matches played between the two clubs over the years, which provides us with an average goals per game statistic of 3.03.

204 of those Goals have been scored in the previous 64 matches played between the two clubs at the Emirates Stadium which generates us an average goals per game statistic of 3.19.

Both sets of statistics seem to suggest that this game should see between at least 2 or 3 Goals scored on Sunday afternoon and betting markets such as Total Match Goals 2 or 3 and Over 2.5 Goals look the best choices from the online bookmakers.

Arsenal v West Bromwich Albion Match Betting Odds Market

Arsenal are the clear odds on favourites to win this game on Thursday night which should not come as much of a surprise and the hosts are currently a best price available of 3/10 with Stan James – Bet £10 & Receive £20 Free Bets for New Customers Registering an Account.

The Draw has happened once in the previous five meetings played between the two clubs and I don’t really see this game being number two, but Arsenal did slip up over the weekend against Palace and some might feel that this game could finish all square and this is a current best price of 5/1 with SkyBet – Bet £5 & Receive £20 Free Bets for New Customers Registering an Account.

West Bromwich Albion are not playing at all well recently as their recent form statistics clearly show and for me their current best price of 9/1 with BetVictor – £50 Free Bets for New Customers Registering an Account, is about right as I really don’t see them having much chance of being able to win this game on Thursday night.

Arsenal v West Bromwich Albion Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Arsenal will not of been happy at dropping those two points at home against Crystal Palace over the weekend and with Manchester City now having moved above them to 3rd place in the league table, this has now become a must win game for Arsenal football club, otherwise they could see themselves having to enter the champions league at the qualification stage and that is not something a big club like City needs when preparing for a new season.

West Brom will be fortunate to survive relegation in my opinion as although they do look to of probably done enough to stay in the english top flight for another season, their performances this season have not been the best and there still seems to be some behind the scenes turmoil going on in regards to Berahino who has now twice tried to leave the club for pastures new and twice having been denied, so I do think that whatever is going on there has had some contribution to why West Brom have had a poor season.

However, with Spurs up next and then West Ham these are two games I don’t expect West Brom to get much from and with Liverpool at home on the last day of the season, these are three really tough games they have left to play after this tough game against Arsenal and for me the baggies are far from safe of relegation.

Onto some predictions then and my Banker Free Tip for this game is going to be for Arsenal Half Time/Full Time as I don’t really expect West Brom to get on the score-sheet during this match and hopefully, Arsenal can grab an early goal and then go on to build on that for the rest of the match.

My First Goalscorer Free Tip will be for Arsenal striker Alexis Sanchez to score the first goal of the game as he has managed to score in each of the last three matches and his confidence will be in no question come Thursday night.
