Middlesbrough v Queens Park Rangers Preview, Championship, Friday 20th November 2015

Middlesbrough head into this game having had a good start to their new season and currently occupy 4th position in the league table and will be looking to bounce back from their 3-0 defeat last time out away against Hull City when taking on Queens Park Rangers come Friday night in front of their home fans at the riverside stadium.

Queens Park Rangers have had an average start to their new season and will feel that they should be a lot higher than their 13th position in the league table. The visitors have not been helped by a majority of their key players having been injured in recent months, but with most of them players now back involved this will be a game they will be confident of obtaining at least something from to take back home to the capital.

Middlesbrough Team News:

The hosts have a full squad available for this game with Ben Gibson having now returned from injury. David Nugent looks likely to spearhead the attack up front.

Queens Park Rangers Team News:

The visitors continue to be without Armand Traore as he continues to receive treatment for an injury problem and Jamie Mackie is also a major doubt and will undertake a late fitness test on Friday morning to see if he can feature. James Perch is available again having served his suspension and should resume his place at right back.

Middlesbrough v Queens Park Rangers Head to Head Statistics:

Friday night’s game from the Riverside Stadium will become the 25th meeting between the two clubs over the years, of which Middlesbrough have won just 5 times overall, 4 of those victories having came with home advantage where as Queens Park Rangers have managed an impressive 12 wins overall with 6 of those having came away from home.

As we can see from our head to head statistics table below, which shows the last five meetings between the two clubs, it has been Queens Park Rangers who have had the better results over recent season’s having won four times with Middlesbrough having won just the once.

61 Goals have been scored in the previous 24 meetings between the two clubs and this provides us with an overall average goals per game statistic of 2.54.

25 of those Goals have came in the 12 previous matches played at the Riverside Stadium and this generates us an average goal scoring statistic of 2.08.

Based on both sets of data shown above, it does seem to suggest that this game should see a between 2 or 3 goals scored and betting markets like Both Teams to Score and Total Goals 2 or 3 look the best options from a betting point of view on the goals market.

Middlesbrough v Queens Park Rangers Match Predictions, Banker Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets

Middlesbrough are playing some good football at the moment and although they did suffer a 3-0 defeat last time out away against Hull City, both the fans and the players will be confident of bouncing back to winning ways come Friday night.

Queens Park Rangers have not managed to really get going at all so far this season and with just one win in their last six league matches it’s difficult to give them any real chance of winning this game despite having a good record against Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium.

The main issue for Queens Park Rangers does seem to be their defence which has already shipped twenty four goals already from their sixteen matches played and until they manage to get in some better defenders it does seem like they are going to find it very difficult to climb up the table.

As such my Banker Free Tip for this game is going to be for Middlesbrough to win this game in comfortable fashion as with a great record at home having won six, drawn one and lost one of their eight matches played at the Riverside Stadium I am expecting the hosts to win this match by at least a couple of goals on Friday night.

My First Goalscorer Free Tip is going to be Middlesbrough striker David Nugent as he is currently the top first goalscorer for his club this season with four and is a player that certainly knows how to hit the target.
