Arsenal v Hull City Preview, FA Cup 5th Round, Saturday 20th February 2016

Arsenal head into this 5th round FA Cup match on Saturday afternoon having beaten Burnley 2-1 in the previous round, Calum Chambers and Alexis Sanchez on target that day and with home advantage in this match against Hull City, the hosts will no doubt be confident of progressing through to the 6th round.

Arsenal have won the FA Cup an impressive 12 times, which is the current record for any English club and will be looking to defend their trophy having won it last season when beating Aston Villa 4-0 in the final.

Hull City head into the game having beaten Bury 3-1 away from home and with the club having an excellent season in the Championship where they currently sit top of the league table, the visitors will also believe that they can win this game and cause what would definitely come as a major shock, especially to Arsenal fans.

Hull City have never managed to win the FA Cup in the history of their club, but did reach the final back in the 2013/14 season and were unlucky losers having gone down 3-2 in extra time by today’s opponents Arsenal.

Arsenal Team News:

David Ospina is expected to deputise for primary shot-stopper Cech while Calum Chambers, Mohamed Elneny, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Arsenal goal hero Danny Welbeck – who netted a dramatic winner against Leicester last Sunday on his return to first-team duty – could all start.

Hull City Team News:

Like Wenger, Bruce will rest a number of regulars as winning the Championship takes priority in the manager’s plans. Arsenal loanees Chuba Akpom and Isaac Hayden are unavailable due to their loan deals, but Manchester United loanee Nick Powell will feature for the visitors.

Arsenal v Hull City Head to Head Statistics:

22 of those Goals have been scored in the previous 7 matches played between the two clubs at the Emirates Stadium which generates us an average goals per game statistic of 3.14.

Both sets of data seem to suggest that this game should see at least a few Goals scored on Saturday afternoon and betting markets such as Over 2.5 Goals and Total Match Goals 2 or 3 look good betting options for this game.

Arsenal v Hull City Match Betting Odds Market

Arsenal have an excellent record in this competition and with home advantage and playing in a league higher than their opponents it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise to see the hosts as the clear favourites to win this game at a current best price available of 4/7 with with BetVictor – £50 Free Bets for New Customers Registering an Account.

The Draw has happened once in the previous five meetings played, so does look an unlikely outcome on in this game, but it is the FA Cup afterall so anything is possible and if you think this game can finish all square you can enjoy a current best price of 16/5 with BetFred – Bet £10 & Receive £30 Free Bets when Registering a New Account.

Hull City will not be looking forward to this game as Arsenal have been a bogey side for them in both the Premier League and the FA Cup over recent years, but the visitors will obviously be giving it everything in this match and their fans will obviously be getting on their current best price of 11/2 with Paddy Power – Bet £10 & Receive £30 Free Bets when Registering a New Account.

Arsenal v Hull City Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Arsenal could have one eye on their Champions League match 1st leg match at home against Barcelona next week, so manager Arsene Wenger could look at resting at least a few of his first team players for this match and if this does turn out to be the case, then Hull City would obviously have a much better chance of winning the game.

However, with the Arsenal squad full of world class International players, I still believe that the hosts will prove too strong for Hull City over the course of the 90mins and this does look to be a home win banker of the afternoon at what is a reasonable price considering the gulf of quality in both squads.

Hull City will obviously try to produce a performance for their fans and I can possibly see them scoring in this game, but unfortunately for the visitors I don’t think one goal will be enough to trouble Arsenal here.

Onto some predictions then and my Banker Free Tip is going to be for Arsenal to Win as whoever manager Arsene Wenger does decide to play in this match, their squad will still be far too superior to what Hull City have available and I fully expect the hosts to win this match quite comfortably on Saturday afternoon.

My First Goalscorer Free Tip will be Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck to score the First Goal of the game for his side as with him now having fully recovered from injury and scoring that important winner last weekend against Leicester City, he should start this game and prove quite a handfull for the Hull City defence to contend with.
