Newcastle United v Tottenham Hotspur Preview, Premiership, Sunday 19th April 2015.

Can things get any worse for this Newcastle United side who have now gone their last five Premiership matches without a win or draw. They have now further slipped down the table and have ended up just nine points from the relegation drop. What is slightly more worrying is that we see Burnley, Queens Park Rangers and Aston Villa all achieving results that could potentially see them climb out of the red zone and into safety. Granted the more likely to replace them in the drop zone would be Hull City and Sunderland but still we can just not tell the outcome with only six games left to play.

Tottenham Hotspurs have been pretty much up and down all season when it comes down to form, as we have now seen two wins, two loses and a draw to Burnley in their last five Premier League games. This should really be a routine win for the London club but after seeing them lose to Aston Villa recently you just couldn’t pin point a result between the two sides. Spurs are just three points off of a European place finish, although will need to battle Liverpool for those rights. Tottenham Hotspurs do have Southampton and Manchester City soon, and if they manage to beat both then we could see them push for a Champions League spot, although chances are very slim.

Newcastle United Team News:

Newcastle United have a handful of injured players missing from selection against Tottenham Hotspurs, with Haidara (knee), Dummett (knee) and Tiote (knee) to name a few. We also see Papiss Cisse is out due to a suspension. Aarons (hamstring) and Taylor (Achilles tendon) are also injured, yet we do see club captain Coloccini return after his suspension. Sissoko was sent off against Liverpool and should be suspended for two matches.

Tottenham Hotspur Team News:

Tottenham Hotspurs are slightly better off with the number of injuries, yet what is worse is that we see Hugo Lloris out with a knee injury. While Kyle Walker and Jan Vertonghen are missing from defence due to an ankle injury and illness respectively. Spurs have failed to score in their last two games, which is strange after seeing them beat Leicester City 4 – 3 and seeing a Harry Kane hat-trick.

Newcastle United v Tottenham Hotspur Head to Head Statistics:

In total we have 130 games played between the two clubs where Spurs have won on 57 occasions, and Newcastle United winning 46. Meaning we have had 27 draws also, with the last two happening in 2011.

Even though Tottenham Hotspurs are not in the best of form, they still put Newcastle United to shame when it comes to their win/draw/lose ratio. Newcastle United have lost all five of their last five Premiership games, and are also favourites to continue that streak with a sixth loss.

Newcastle United v Tottenham Hotspur Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Premiership action is soon coming to an end this season, yet we do have an exciting match for you here with Newcastle United looking to better their form with a win over rivals Tottenham Hotspurs at the St James Park Stadium. Tottenham Hotspurs will fancy their chances here as they make a bid for a European football placed finish ahead of Liverpool. They have yet to face Southampton and Manchester City, so who knows where Spurs will end up after their remaining six games left to play.

Newcastle United are in extremely poor from right now and have lost five of their last five Premiership games, which has seen them slip slightly down the table with them now only nine points away from a relegation battle. Tottenham Hotspurs have no issues of that worry, and instead are in search of a much needed win after losing their last game to Aston Villa.

My predictions for this game will see the London club come out winners after the ninety minutes, as Newcastle United look very troubling at the back with absolutely no organisation with stand in defenders. The next is for Harry Kane to score and Tottenham Hotspurs to win, which wont be the best odds, yet still something more along the lines of positive. So for the other I am also going for a Spurs 3 – 1 win.
