Wolves v Ipswich Town Preview, Championship, Saturday 18th April 2015

Wolves applied some unwanted pressure on themselves having now lost their last two Championship games. It now leaves them three points behind Ipswich Town who themselves currently host that 6th play off position. However a win on Saturday could close that gap and be left on joint points, although Ipswich Town will still be in front via goal difference. With only nine points left on offer, Wolves will need to win all of their remaining games to have any hope of achieving that play off finish.

Ipswich Town have managed to turn their season around with four Championship wins in their last six fixtures. They are just inside the play off positions right now although that could change in their last three tough fixtures against Wolves, Nottingham Forest and Blackburn Rovers. However if they do manage to beat Wolves on Saturday who themselves have lost their last two games, then they could be home free unless Wolves win their last two games with a high number of goals scored.

Wolves Team News:

Wolves top goal scorers are Malayan midfielder Bakary Sako (14) and striker Nouha Dicko (12) which English youngster Benik Afobe close behind on 11 Championship goals. Goal scoring midfielder David Edwards (6) produced a winning goal in the 4 – 3 epic fixture against Leeds United with it coming in the last few minutes of the game.

Ipswich Town Team News:

Ipswich Towns veteran striker Daryl Murphy has so far been prolific in front of goal with twenty four Championship goals so far this season. The 32 year old Irishman has played in 41 league fixtures so far having only missed the two games all season. The closest behind him in goals scored in Freddy Sears with eight to his name.

With Wolves losing their last two games you would have to give the baton to Ipswich Town who are the team in far better winning form right now. Even though they are away from home we could see that final play off position slip away from Wolves if they themselves fail to win.

Wolves v Ipswich Town Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Championship action this Saturday brings an exciting game between two clubs who are fighting for that remaining last play off position. It could go down to the wire between Ipswich Town and Wolves, but we do also see Brentford in with a chance who are currently three points behind Ipswich Town, and on the same points as Wolves. Wolves have the easier remaining games with Wigan and Millwall on the agenda. Where as Ipswich Town host Nottingham Forest and then travel away to Blackburn Rovers.

Both teams must of been in good form to finish where they are, yet we do see that Wolves have declined lately with two recent loses in the league. Where as Ipswich Town have won their last two. This game is massive for both clubs here, as a loss to Ipswich Town could prove to be a mountain just too high for Wolves which would be a huge loss to them. Wolves are the favourites on Saturday and only a top performance will be acceptable if they are serious about that promotion push.

My predictions for Saturday lunchtimes game between these two clubs will back both teams to earn a result after the ninety minutes.  For that I am planning to go for both teams to score and for the home side Wolverhampton Wanderers to win the match. The next will be for a draw with a correct scoreline of 2 – 2.
