Reading v Arsenal Preview, FA Cup Semi-Final, Saturday 18th April 2015.

This will not be that perfect time for a club such as Reading to play Arsenal in the semi finals of the country’s most prestigious cup. In the clubs last five fixtures which have all been in the Championship. They have lost twice and drawn on three occasions which has now seen them drop to 18th position in the league. Where as their opponents are enjoying an incredible run of eight straight victories. Even still we could see a great game of football here at Wembley, with Arsenal potentially scoring for fun against a side who are seriously lacking some fire power themselves.

Arsene Wenger has kept quiet regarding the possible challenge of stealing the title fro Chelsea this season. Although the chances are slim we do still see Chelsea having to face Manchester United at the Bridge, and then have to travel away from home to face in form Arsenal. If Chelsea did lose both these games then the Premiership title race blows right open and potentially brings in a lot of exciting times with that close finish we all desire. However Arsenal still need to visit Old Trafford and even though the London club are in form, so are Manchester United.

Reading Team News:

Although Reading are really struggling for goals right now, it doesn’t come as much of a surprise to see their top scorer Simon Cox only scoring eight league goals all season. Behind him is the 31 year old striker Pogrebnyak on six while Scottish forward Mackie has just five.

Arsenal Team News:

Arsenal’s injury worries seem to be behind them now with them almost having a full bill of health. they only have the two issues right now, with Frenchman Diaby still out with his calf, while England attacker Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is still missing with his hamstring.

Reading v Arsenal Head to Head Statistics:

In the last five head to head encounters we can see it is Arsenal who have dominated completely in all competitions. Sadly we only have 8 games recorded between these two clubs and have zero victories by Reading having been achieved. We have also not seen any draws making Arsenal’s statistics eights wins from eight.

Previous Average Goals Per Game Statistics

In the eight games we have recorded we have seen a total of 40 goals scored, only 10 of these by Reading. This is going to give us an average of 5 goals per games which with looking at how both clubs are performing could very well be on the cards in Saturdays game.

Reading v Arsenal Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

FA Cup semi final action this Saturday comes live from Wembley Stadium and features Championship strugglers Reading, verses Premiership title challengers Arsenal. The bookmakers are not giving Reading much hope of a win here as their run of form lately has been terrible and sees them drop down into 18th position. Where as Arsenal have won eight of their last fixtures in all competitions.

Although stranger things have happened and we are all aware of the magic the FA Cup produces, with it turning the worse of teams into potential giant killers and winners. But for me I just feel that maybe Reading have bit far more off than they can chew, as this Arsenal side are in the form of their lives and I am sure Jose Mourinho is even worried when he visits The Emirates in their upcoming games.

My predictions for this FA Cup semi final tie will of course only see one outcome of Arsenal winning one way of the other. So for the first I am planning to take Arsenal to win the game 4 – 0 after 90 minutes. the next is for Olivier Giroud to score two or more goals on the night which would see him continue his exceptional scoring form since his injury.
