Juventus v Sampdoria Preview, Primera La Liga, Saturday 18th January 2014.

Juventus head into this game unbeaten in elven league games and currently sit eight points clear atop the Serie A League. With only Roma and Napoli likely to catch them it does appear that last years champions will once again retain their hard earned crown. Having already seen off Roma this month in convincing fashion it can only be left for Juventus to throw this challenge away and even if they suffer an injury or two to any key players I still can’t see it effecting their run too much.

We predicted a win for Sampdoria and an Eder goal for Monday nights game at home to Udinese and it is always great to see when we manage to hit the nail on the head. But can we see them continuing that form into Saturdays game against a side who are far superior in every department so far this season. Although they had a bad November Sampdoria have since then picked up some form and started to pull themselves up the table. They did lose to Napoli as expected but even then managed to play with some dignity.

Juventus v Sampdoria Team News

Juventus Team News:

Juventus are playing very well right now and it helps when having in form strikers such as Carlos Tevez who has scored eleven times in nineteen games so far this season, and with regular strike partner Llorente who has himself scored eight goals in sixteen games you can see the Italian Champions are doing okay when it comes down to putting the ball into the net. Manchester United have apparently inquired about Paul Pogba who is in great form since joining and he himself has bagged five so far.

Sampdoria Team News:

Sampdoria are a team in unpredictable form right now and although they won 3 – 0 on Monday I cannot see them overcoming last years champions on their home turf. As predicted Brazilian striker Eder scored in the 3 – 0 win with a brace and has now bought himself to nine goals in fifteen matches which keeps him as the clubs top scorer by far. Closest too him is Italian youngster Manolo Gabbiadini who has so far notched himself four goals in seventeen games.

Juventus v Sampdoria Preview Head to Head Statistics

Surprisingly it is Sampdoria who have been the better side in recent years and seem to be the Italian Champions bogus side both home and away. If we do however look into the records we have seen a total of 29 games played where Juventus have won 14 to Sampdoria’s 6 which would give the home side clear advantage here. Sampdoria have only won 3 times away from home in the past which concludes 50% of their wins over Juventus.

Average Goals Per Game?

In the past we have seen these two sides meet 29 times and in total have recorded 96 goals, which gives us an average of 3.3 goals per game. Which should suggest we see a few goals minimum on Saturdays live game. Which side these come from is unsure as Juventus look to shake off previous worries of Sampdoria being a boggy side.

Juventus v Sampdoria Recent Form (Last 5 Games – Left to Right)

Juventus: W W W W W

Sampdoria: W L L D W

Juventus are cruising to yet another Serie A title unless they do start to slip up, but with the form they are in currently you just couldn’t see it. Juventus have gone 11 Serie A games unbeaten with the last coming away from home to Fiorentina. Sampdoria do however come into this match with renewed vigor after successfully seeing off Udinese in a 3 – 0 win.

The Draw is unlikely a result although it could be the best Sampdoria could manage even after their recent rise in form. But I can’t see it myself and bookmakers are setting the best odds currently @ 6/1 with Betfred – £50 Free Bets For New Customers Registering an Account.

Juventus v Sampdoria Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

As I mentioned above in the head to head statistics section, a win for Sampdoria on the best of times comes at a rarity. Having only won six times in total against the Italian Champions only three of those wins have come away from home. It is why bookmakers have set the odds so high and with the way both clubs are playing I seriously cannot predict an upset for this game on Saturday. Even a draw would be something I couldn’t back regardless of the last win against Udinese by Sampdoria.

Juventus have been known to slip up a few times this season with the more notable being the loss to Turkish side Galatasaray which inevitably knocked Juventus out of the Champions League in embarrassing fashion. But since then they have been on an incredible winning streak and have scored an impressive tally of goals against whatever opponents they face. This also includes the 3 – 0 home win against Roma who are their closest challengers for the Serie A title now being eight points behind.

So lets get down to some predictions, we do see Sampdoria picking up in form recently but their opponents having been that challenging compared to facing a side like Juventus. the first prediction I am going for is Juventus to win both halves, not the best of odds but at least its coming in as evens. The other I am going for is for Carlos Tevez to score first and Juventus to win the game which is showing some great odds right now.
