Liverpool v AFC Bournemouth Preview, Premiership, Monday 17th August 2015.

Liverpool celebrated late on in their opening game against Stoke City away from home when Philippe Coutinho opened his goal scoring account with an absolute screamer. The goal came in the 86th minute and undid all of Stoke’s hard work with some great defensive qualities for so long during the match. Liverpool now host newcomers Bournemouth and should easily come out as winners on Monday night. Although they certainly shouldn’t me too over confident seeing as though their opponents did seriously test Aston Villa last Saturday. Liverpool may play two newly promoted sides in their next five fixtures, but do also face tough sides such as Arsenal and Manchester United.

AFC Bournemouth played their first ever Premier League fixture last weekend and were seriously hoping to enjoy their first win against last years strugglers Aston Villa. And it came as such a shame when Villa did eventually take the lead by a Rudy Gestede header, also earning Aston Villa the three points with a 1 – 0 win. The bookmakers are not fancying the clubs chances of earning those first three points on Monday, especially as travelling to Liverpool and hoping to win by any means will likely be unattainable. That said the togetherness of the club is so great they could prove people wrong and potentially upset Brendan Rodgers and the fans if they do play extremely well. After this game Bournemouth do have an easier set of games with West Ham United, Leicester City and Norwich City to maybe get a result or two from.

Liverpool Team News:

Liverpool’s new signing Benteke didn’t look too sharp in last weeks fixture against Stoke City, although he should prove to be an excellent signing with the qualities the striker possesses. The club currently have three injuries right now with Daniel Sturridge once again sidelined, this time due to his hip. Joe Allen is missing with a pulled hamstring while John Flanagan still misses out with a knee injury.

AFC Bournemouth Team News:

Bournemouth are without Harry Arter with a groin strain right now, and is the clubs only injury worry. The club have signed eight new faces during the summer with Tyrone Mings being the most expensive costing £8 million from Ipswich Town. Max Gradel joined for £7 million from Saint-Etienne and Lee Tomlin for £3 mill from Middlesbrough.

Liverpool v AFC Bournemouth Head to Head Statistics:

We only have two recordings of these two clubs ever meeting which was last year in the Capital One Cup and FA Cup. Liverpool did win both encounters although I wouldn’t of said it was with ease. Both of these meetings was at Bournemouth’s ground and this is the first time the two have met at Anfield.

Previous Average Goals Per Game Statistics

With only two games to get any information from the goals per game average isn’t likely to be 100% a dead cert. Three goals per game is what the statistics say and lets be honest here that could very well be a good choice when considering the quality of each team. the below option is something I would feel safe with.

Liverpool: W W W D W

AFC Bournemouth: L D L W D

Liverpool’s pre-season success and opening game of the Premier League are what to be taken into account here, with four wins and a draw proving to be far better that Bournemouth’s single win. They have also drawn and lost twice in that time so things are not looking too good when looking at recent form.

Liverpool v AFC Bournemouth Match Betting Odds Market

Liverpool are the clear and solid favourites to beat newly promoted Bournemouth Monday night and it will be good to see just how their opponents defend against Liverpool’s new strike force. The Draw is what I feel Bournemouth’s best hopes of earning their Premier League first point of the campaign and only if they manage to hold off Liverpool’s potentially dangerous attack line. AFC Bournemouth had their best chance of earning their first win last week when they faced Aston Villa at home, but did sadly lose the game late on after doing so well. Liverpool v AFC Bournemouth Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Monday night action can be seen live on Sky Sports 1 High Definition and features Liverpool verses newly promoted AFC Bournemouth who are eager to show the English top league just how good they are. But can they realistically do that against any of the top teams only they can prove, it is something I would love to see as the underdog is always something I like to back. The two sides have only played each other twice in the past which was in both English cups last year, in which Liverpool managed to win both.

Liverpool enjoyed a good pre-season and even managed a season winning opener against tough side Stoke City. The win did come late and you could come to expect more from Brendan Rodgers side, yet a win is a win and all the three points did go to Liverpool at the end of the ninety minutes. Bournemouth will be gutted they didn’t take advantage of their home game against Aston Villa, and it was a late single goal that ruined what would of been a good day at the promoted sides ground. Bournemouth spent some of their pre-season in the United States and did enjoy a 3 – 1 win against Philadelphia Union.

My predictions for this game will of course back what I feel is the dead cert, as I seriously cannot see Bournemouth breaking down Liverpool and coming away with a win. So I will be going for Benteke to score his first competitive Liverpool goal and of course for the home team to win come Monday night. The next will be for a correct scoreline of Liverpool to win 3 – 1 on the night, which I do feel has a great chance of coming in.
