Manchester City v Chelsea Preview, Premiership, Sunday 16th August 2015

Manchester City had a very comfortable victory in their opening game of the season last weekend when beating West Bromwich Albion 3-0, Ya Ya Toure scored a brace during that game and looked as good as ever dominating the midfield.

Sergio Aguero came on for the last 30mins of the game and that would of done him the world of good and I fully expect him to lead the attack up front for his side in this one.

Chelsea stumbled to a 2-2 draw at home against Swansea City in their opening game of the season and that will not of pleased Mourinho one bit and it did seem that he took the poor performance out on his medical staff after they ran on the pitch to attend to Hazzard as that incident has seemed to dominate the news for the past week and that definitely will not have helped Chelsea’s cause at all as they prepare for this very tough looking match.

Diego Costa looked average at best and it does seem like he is still far from 100% fit in my opinion and for me the success of Chelsea being able to defend their Premiership title this season does depend on him in a bit way despite having a whole host of other world class individuals in their squad.

Manchester City Team News:

Midfielders Fabian Delph (hamstring) and Fernando (groin) are the only definite absentees while left-back Gael Clichy (ankle) will be assessed. Last season’s top goalscorer, Sergio Aguero is likely to lead the attack up front for the hosts having came on for the last 30mins in the 3-0 victory against West Brom last weekend.

Chelsea Team News:

Thibaut Courtois is suspended having been sent off against Swansea City last weekend.Oscar is a doubt for the match after picking up a knock in training, but Diego Costa is in line to start in attack after overcoming a recurring hamstring injury and playing the full 90 minutes last weekend.

180 of those Goals have came in the 68 previous matches played at the Emirates Stadium and this generates us an average goal scoring statistic of 2.65.

Based on both sets of data shown above, it does seem to indicate that this game should see a minimum of at least two goals scored and a strong possibility that both teams will get on the score-sheet during this one.

Manchester City are the slight favourites to win this game on Sunday lunchtime with the current best price available of just 23/20 with BetVictor – £50 Free Bets for New Customers.

The Draw has happened in the last two meetings between the two clubs and is also a very realistic option in this game and this can be had at a current best price of 5/2 with Bet365 – £200 Matched Bonus Bets for New Customers.

Chelsea did not look like defending Champions in their opening 2-2 draw against Swansea and this is a huge test for them on Sunday afternoon, but with Mourinho having yet to lose to a fellow top-four team since his return to England in 2013 their current best price of 14/5 with Coral – Deposit £5 & Receive £20 Free Bets for New Customers will definitely be seen a value by many.

Manchester City v Chelsea Match Predictions, Banker Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets

A very exciting game in prospect and one that has every chance of going either way on the day as both of these clubs have an abundance of world class talent in their squads.

Diego Costa and Sergio Aguerro will both be on the pitch from the start of this game and I certainly expect to see a few goals scored as a result. Costa didn’t look quite 100% against Swansea and does seem to lacking confidence at the moment, whereas Sergio Aguero looks as good as ever and for me this game will be won mainly down to which of these two players has the better game and for me that is going to be Aguero.

As such my Banker Free Tip for this game is going to be for Manchester City to Win as although Mourinho has not lost against a fellow top four club since his return back to the Premiership in 2013, I do feel that this record will definitely go this season and Manchester City are more than capable of being the team to do it.

My First Goalscorer Free Tip has to be Sergio Aguero as for me he is the best striker in the Premiership by a country mile as he showed last season and with him having had 30mins last weekend against West Brom he will be raring to go in this one.
