Blackburn Rovers v Nottingham Forest Preview, Championship, Monday 14th December 2015.

Blackburn Rovers have had a nice easy run of games recently which has helped them raise their game somewhat and improve their form. having won three and drawn twice in the last five fixtures they are also favourites to grab a result come Monday evening at home against Nottingham Forest who are three points below them in fifteenth. The toughest of the five opponents were Brentford and Sheffield Wednesday which were the two games that ended in score draws. The other three clubs are all below Blackburn Rovers so if things go well we could see Rovers head up into seventh although they will have played a game extra than the four clubs currently above them.

Nottingham Forest have also seen their form improve recently with three wins including the tough home battle against Derby County who are currently fourth in the table. Reading are also a tough side yet the win against Fulham was well deserved. To make up the five fixtures we did see Forest lose 2 – 1 away from home to Brentford and then the more recent fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers which ended a goal each and a point on the board. A win on Monday night isn’t seen as impossible for the club, yet is one of the toughest games in the next five. Cardiff City away will be harder, but apart from that Nottingham Forest should add a number of points leading up to January with MK Dons, Leeds United and Charlton Athletic all below them in worse positions.

Blackburn Rovers Team News:

The only injury I can find for Blackburn Rovers is that of centre back Doneil Henry who has been missing since October the 3rd with an Inguinal Hernia and no information on his return to action. Fellow defenders Grant Hanley and Shane Duffy are one yellow card away from a one match ban so will need to be careful against Nottingham Forest if they wish to play in the next game against Reading.

Nottingham Forest Team News:

Defender Jack Hobbs missed out in the win against Rotherham last weekend having returned to selection after the players suspension, yet the centre back could start this Monday against Blackburn Rovers. Jamie Ward or Blackstock could also start ahead of Chris O’Grady who was substituted last match. No injury worries for Nottingham Forest to report.

Blackburn Rovers v Nottingham Forest Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Championship action this Monday night can be seen live on Sky Sports 2 High Definition where we see Blackburn Rovers host Nottingham Forest at Ewood Park. The away side have only won five times in the sixty one games played in the past, yet the last one only came back in 2013 and in the league, so the chances of it happening again are more than possible. Especially when Nottingham Forest have seen their form climb recently. That said so has Blackburn Rovers form, with three wins and a couple of hard earned draws adding to their point tally.

Nottingham Forest have also won on three occasions, and also have drawn once against tough side Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend away from home. Yet the other game they did play they had come up short against Brentford with a 2 – 1 away loss, which if had ended the other way round it would be Forest with the same points as Rovers with just four points away from the play-off positions. Blackburn Rovers however could see the point gap between them and Ipswich Town close to one point come the end of Monday, keeping up the pressure and allowing Blackburn Rovers to fight for that desired play-off result.

My predictions for Monday nights Championship fixture is leaning more towards the home win, even though many critics and punters are favouring that of the draw. I do also see both teams scoring in the game as they both often do when looking at the previous encounters. So for the first I am going for both teams to score and Blackburn Rovers to win the match. The other I am going for is a correct score draw of 2 – 2 which is more than achievable if you look at how many goals are often scored in these games between these two clubs.
