West Ham United v Newcastle United Preview, Premiership, Monday 14th September 2015

West Ham have had a decent enough start to their new season having won two and lost two of their opening four matches played and with home advantage on Monday night against a struggling Newcastle United side, the hosts will obviously be confident of adding a further 3pts to their tally, especially having beaten Liverpool 3-0 at Anfiled last time out.

Newcastle United are still looking for their first win of the new season having drawn two and lost two of their opening four matches played and despite losing their latest game at home against Arsenal 1-0, the players and fans will probably take some confidence from that performance as they were rather unlucky to lose that match.

However, with West Ham having scored a total of nine goals from their four matches played and Newcastle United having only scored just two from their four matches played, it does seem that the West Ham attack is much stronger than Newcastle United’s.

West Ham United Team News:

Mark Noble is available after his red card at Liverpool was overturned, while Slaven Bilic could hand debuts to a trio of deadline-day signings – Michail Antonio and Victor Moses are in contention, as is striker Nikica Jelavic – but Alex Song has an ankle problem.

Club-record signing Andy Carroll could make his first appearance of the season after recovering from a knee injury, with Mauro Zarate a doubt due to a hamstring issue and Enner Valencia (knee) and Joey O’Brien (calf) are still both absent.

Newcastle United Team News:

Newcastle striker Aleksandar Mitrovic serves the first leg of a three-match ban after being shown a straight red card for a foul on Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin.

McClaren has no other fresh selection problems, although defender Paul Dummett has suffered a setback in his recovery from a hamstring injury.

West Ham United v Newcastle United Head to Head Statistics:

Monday night’s match from the Boleyn Stadium will become the 97th meeting between the two clubs over the years. West Ham United have managed to secure 32 victories overall with 25 of these having come with home advantage, where as Newcastle United have managed 39 victories overall with 13 of those having came away from home.

Our head to head statistics table below shows the last five matches played between the two clubs and as we can see it has been Newcastle United who just edge the better results over recent season’s having managed to win 2 times, compared to West Ham United having won just the once.

Previous Average Goals Per Game Statistics

284 Goals have been scored in the previous 96 matches played between the two clubs over the years, which provides us with an average goals per game statistic of 2.96.

143 of those Goals have been scored in the previous 48 matches played between the two clubs at the Stadium Of Light which generates us an average goals per game statistic of 2.98.

Both sets of statistics seem to suggest that this game should see between at least 2 or 3 Goals scored on Monday night and betting markets such as Both Teams to Score, Total Match Goals 2 or 3 and Over 2.5 Goals all look good options for this match.

West Ham United v Newcastle United Match Betting Odds Market

West Ham United are the clear favourites to win this game on Monday night and with a current best price available of 5/4 with Bet365 – Receive £200 Matched Bonus Bets for New Customers Registering an Account and this does look good value considering Newcastle have yet to win a game this season.

The Draw has happened twice in the previous five meetings played and I would expect Newcastle United to try and play for a point to take back home with them in this one, so the draw could be a sensible cover bet at a current best price of 5/2 with SkyBet – Deposit £5 & Receive £20 Free Bets for New Customers Registering an Account.

Newcastle United do seem to be struggling where it matters on the pitch so far from what Ive seen this season and so no real big surprise to see the online bookmakers offering up a current best price of 5/2 with BetVictor – Receive £50 Free Bets when Registering a New Account.

West Ham United v Newcastle United Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

West Ham have been hot and cold from their opening four matches played, but I fully expect them to win this match on Monday night in front of their home fans as with a number of new signing’s on deadline day most of which should be handed debut’s in this game, the West Ham squad does look a lot stronger than what Newcastle United have to offer.

As such my Banker Free Tip for this game is going to be for West Ham United to Win as I have not been at all impressed by what I have seen from Newcastle United so far.

My First Goalscorer Free Tip is going to be for West Ham striker Diafra Sakho to open up the scoring for the hosts as although he has only scored just the once so far this season, he definitely has what it takes in front of goal to secure himself at least double figures for this season.
