Aston Villa v Manchester United Preview, Premiership, Friday 14th August 2015.

Aston Villa kickstarted their Premier League campaign with a 1 – 0 win over newcomers Bournemouth last weekend and you can only hope it is a good sign of things to come from the club who seriously struggled last season. Aston Villa only just managed to avoid relegation last term and manager Tim Sherwood will be hoping for something better from his team if they want to avoid that same situation by the end of this season. One other thing to note was Aston Villa really struggled for goals last season, and after letting Benteke leave to join Liverpool you will have to ask who can step up? But that said new signing Rudy Gestede got off to a good start when he come on and scored with yet again another header.

Louis Van Gael will be much happier with the start that his side had last weekend after beating Tottenham Hotspurs 1 – 0 at Old Trafford. The goal did come from Kyle Walker who sadly for him deflected it into his own net in the first half. Manchester United handed debut’s to all five of their new signings with each of them having a good solid game. Matteo Darmian had a quality game before being substituted with cramp and was even voted the man of the match by MUTV. Depay played well while he was on as did Bastian Schweinsteiger who came on the replace Michael Carrick. Morgan Scheiderlin had a quality game as did new goalkeeper Sergio Romero who was forced to make some last minute saves to hand United the win.

Aston Villa Team News:

Two players missing for Aston Villa due to injuries with Jores Okore one of these with a knee injury. The next is Gary Gardner with a bad ankle and both players wont likely be back until mid September some time. Aston Villa have been in the transfer news once again lately with the club close to signing Barcelona’s Adama Traore according to Sky Sports. Ashley Westwood has signed a new five year deal at the club which is great news for the fans and all those involved.

Manchester United Team News:

Manchester United only have Phil Jones missing with injury after the fitness staff luckily managed to find a mild thrombosis to the leg. Marouane Fellaini is still unavailable for Manchester United after his suspension last season. After Bastian Schweinsteiger was criticised by ex coach Pep Guardiola recently the World Cup winner has now said he is very close to full match fitness after his game against Spurs. There are still meant to be some new additions joining United in the remaining transfer windows, with Barcelona winger Pedro being one. Thomas Muller’s name has popped up again today and would also be a quality signing for the club.

Aston Villa v Manchester United Match Betting Odds Market

Aston Villa haven’t beaten Manchester United at home for twenty years which I found a rather shocking fact, and when looking at the bookmakers odds I am even more so. Anyway the odds for the home win are rather generous if statistics are anything to go by, and the best off these odds can be seen coming in here @ 5/1 with Bet365 – Receive £200 Matched Bets when You Register a New Account

The Draw has however been seen on a number of occasions in the past and is more likely the more likely result if Aston Villa have a good solid game on Friday evening. Manchester United kickstarted their campaign with a solid win over Spurs last Saturday although struggled to have any shots on goal I believe. That said they are still the clear favourites to win on Friday with the best odds currently found seen here @ 4/6 with Bet365 – Receive £200 Matched Bets when You Register a New Account

Aston Villa v Manchester United Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

It is a rare thing to see any Premier League action being played on a Friday, yet this season they are breaking tradition with Aston Villa playing hosts to Manchester United. The game can be seen live on Sky Sports 1 High Definition this Friday and looks set to be yet again another exciting game if the last five head to head encounters are anything to go by. Manchester United are the solid favourites set by the bookmakers, especially as Aston Villa haven’t managed a single win against the club at home since way back in 1995.

Aston Villa started with a win last weekend although didn’t go all out attack against newcomers Bournemouth. Instead they held back to see what last years Championship winners could throw at them, which in the end wasn’t too much seeing as the game ended only 1 – 0 to Villa. Question is however, is how will they now fair against this strong Manchester United side, who themselves have strengthened their midfield and could quite possibly be the strongest they have had in many years. Manchester United also started the campaign with a win, which came at Old Trafford against tough side Tottenham Hotspurs with a 1 – 0 result.

My predictions for this game does fully side with that of Manchester United as there are solid reasons and facts to just why Aston Villa have failed to beat their opponents at home in twenty years. That said United cannot be complacent and manager Van Gael will be certain to mention this. So for the first I am going to go with a Wayne Rooney goal and Manchester United to win, as the United captain will be looking to open his goal scoring account ASAP if he is set to be the clubs main striker this season. The next will be for a correct scoreline of Manchester United to win by 3 goals to nil.
