West Bromwich Albion v West Ham United Preview , FA Cup 5th Round, Saturday 14th February 2015

West Bromwich Albion recorded a rare home win on Wednesday when they welcomes Welsh side Swansea City to their ground. It is only the fourth home win since back before Christmas and only their fifth win in total since back then also. The club were one of the sides I myself predicted for the drop come the end of the season, and even though they did beat Swansea City I do still believe they could go down with them only four points adrift Aston Villa who are in the relegation zone. They have however done very well in the FA Cup this season after recently beating Birmingham City in the forth round.

West Ham United had started to pick up their form again in the last week with hard earned draws against top sides Manchester United and Southampton. They did however lose 2 – 0 to Liverpool the week before in the Premiership which has seen them slump down to eight position and now four points away from Liverpool who are just above them in seventh. West Ham United travel a few miles across London for their next Premiership game a week this Sunday, which will be a very hard challenge seeing how Spurs are playing this season.

West Bromwich Albion Team News:

Victor Anichebe was injured back on the 8th February with a groin strain against Burnley and we have no news on his predicted return currently. Also Youssouf Mulumbu has been recovering from a hamstring he picked up at the end of January in training, yet could be back soon we hope.

West Ham United Team News:

West Ham United have been hit hard for injuries this month with seven players all crocked. Kevin Nolan in out with a bad ankle while Poyet has a knock. We then have defender John Collins missing with his hamstring and then Guy Demel who also has a knock. Doneil Henry (knock), Winston Read (hamstring) and Andy Carroll (knee) complete the remaining three.

West Bromwich Albion v West Ham United Head to Head Statistics:

West Ham United have had the slightly better results with two wins and two draws, while losing once away from home last season. In total we have recorded 70 encounters between the two Premiership clubs with West Brom the actual better team with 30 wins , 15 draws and 25 loses.

Previous Average Goals Per Game Statistics

In the 70 games we have recorded we have a total of 222 goals being scored which is going to give us the average of 3.1 goals per game. Which has been seen a few times in their last five meetings. The below selection could be a good option I feel.

West Ham United: D D L W W

On paper both teams are equal on form yet we do need to consider that West Ham United have had to play the far superior teams such as Liverpool, Manchester United and Southampton. Where as West Brom have faced Burnley , Birmingham City and Swansea City.

West Bromwich Albion v West Ham United Match Betting Odds Market

West Bromwich Albion may well be at home on Saturday in this FA Cup 5th Round tie, yet are only slightly considered the favourites against this West Ham United side. A win will see West Brom into the 6th round, something no one would of predicted at the start of the season. Best odds for them to win seen here @ 6/4 with Betfred – Deposit and Bet £10 & Receive £30 Free Bets when You Register a New Account

The Draw is a result I fancy very much here as West Ham United are by far the better team overall this season. The bookmakers best possible odds on the draw can be found coming in here @ 12/5 with Bet365 – £200 Matched Bonus Bets for New Customers,

West Ham United are considered as serious contenders for this game and only slightly come in behind West Bromwich Albion in the odds statistics. The bookmakers best odds on the away win can be seen here @ 2/1 with BetVictor – £25 Free Bets plus an addition £5 & also get 10 Free Spins

West Bromwich Albion v West Ham United Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

FA Cup 5th Round action on Saturday comes to us live on BT Sports 1 High Definition and features West Bromwich Albion verses West Ham United for a place in the 6th round. Both clubs are equal when it comes down to form statistics yet West Ham United have had the tougher opponents by a considerable amount with the likes of Southampton, Liverpool and Manchester United.

West Bromwich Albion won at home this Wednesday against Swansea City who themselves seemed to have nothing in terms of firepower since the departure of their star striker to Manchester City. The game ended 2 – 0 and marked it as West Brom’s 5th win since before Christmas which is a dismal record. West Ham however have improved recently after losing 2 – 0 to Liverpool at Anfield. The went on to earn tough draws against Manchester United and then Southampton more recently.

My predictions for this game does in fact fancy the London club to go on into the next round, or at least earn a draw to then welcome West Brom to Upton Park. So for my first I am going to go for West Ham United to win the game 2 – 1 as that is giving some great odds right now. The other is for West Ham United to come from behind and either win or draw the match.
