Spain v Czech Republic Preview, Euro 2016 Finals, Group D, Monday 13th June 2016

Spain head into their first match of the tournament having suffered quite an embarrassment in their final warm up game when somehow losing 1-0 to Georgia who are ranked 137th in the world ! The spain boss Vincente de Bosque was quick to defend his players and  later told the press that there was no need to panic as everything was prepared for the finals regardless of that defeat.

To be fair, if Spain had needed to win that game against Georgia to qualify for this tournament then we would of probably seen something along the lines of a comfortable 4 or 5 nil victory, so I do agree with Del Bosque’s reaction to the press and I would be quite shocked not to see Spain win this game on Monday afternoon.

The Czech Republic have had a mixed bag of results in their warm up matches to this tournament having won three, lost two and drawn one of their previous six matches played. They did hammer Malta 6-0, but that’s hardly anything to get too excited about and for me this Czech Republic side doesn’t look anywhere near as good as previous teams over the years and I do expect them to struggle to make it out of this group.

Spain Team News:

Spain have a full squad available for this game but could be without Manchester Utd goal keeper David De Gea as he is currently involved in allegations from the Spanish press that have linked him to a prostitution case, so that means Iker Casillas could be handed a start.

Up front Spain will be relying on Alvaro Morata who having now fully recovered from a thigh strain looks likely to feature.

Czech Republic Team News:

The Czech Republic also have a full squad available and looks likely to field his strongest lineup for this game which will include captain Tomas Rosicky.

Spain v Czech Republic Head to Head Statistics:

Monday afternoon’s group d match will become the 5th meeting between the two nations over the years and as we can see from our head to head statistics table below, it has been Spain who have dominated recent proceedings having won three times, with the remaining match having finished all square.

Spain v Czech Republic Match Betting Odds Market

Spain are the clear odds on favourites to win this game with a current best price available of 1/2 with SkyBet – Bet £5 & Receive £20 Free Bets when Registering a New Account but this does look a little short considering their recent defeat against Georgia.

The Draw is a current best price of 7/2 with BetFred – Bet £10 & Receive £30 Matched Bets when You Register a New Account and is probably the best result that the Czech’s could obtain in my honest opinion, so it could be worth getting something on this game finishing all square as your main saver bet.

Czech Republic are a current best price on offer of 8/1 with Bet365 – Receive £200 Matched Bonus Bets for New Customers Registering an Account and I can probably see some people taking this what with Spain’s record at the last World Cup where they were eliminated at the group stage.

Spain v Czech Republic Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

If Spain are anything close to be being back to their best then I would expect them to win this game quite comfortably on Monday afternoon as with a capable striker in Alvaro Morata the Czech Republic defence does look in for a tough time.

The Czech’s will probably defend quite deep in large numbers in an attempt to try and break down Spain’s fluid passing in the midfield and if they can managed to do that then there is no reason why they can’t grab themselves at least one goal in this game as the Spanish defence hasn’t looked that great recently.

Onto some predictions then and my Banker Free Tip is going to be for Alvaro Morata to Score at Anytime & Spain to Win as this does look good value and a very possible outcome.

My First Goalscorer Free Tip will be for Alvaro Morata to score the first goal of the game as it does seem that most of the attacks will be aimed towards him and he won’t need many chances on goal to find the Czech Republic net as he is a clinical finisher.
