Real Madrid v Juventus Preview, Champions League, Wednesday 13th May 2015

Real Madrid have it all to do on Wednesday night as they try to overturn the 2-1 defeat suffered at the Juventus Arena last week, but with home advantage and a packed out Bernabeu Stadium fully behind them, the players will obviously fancy their chances of obtaining the right result.

Juventus shocked quite a few people by winning the 1st leg affair last week 2-1, but thoroughly deserved the victory having been by far the better team on the night and another performance like that one will easily see them progress through to the final which they last won back in the 1995/96 season.

Real Madrid Team News:

The hosts will be without Abner, Medran and Modric for this game as they all continue to receive treatment for respective injury problems. Benzema will under take a late fitness test as he struggles with a knee problem, but does look only likely to claim a place on the bench at least if he does come through his fitness test without any problems. Ronaldo and Bale will once again spearhead the attack up front.

Juventus Team News:

The visitors have a few casualties for this game and will be without the services of Asamoah, Caceres, Marrone and Romulo as they all continue to receive treatment for respective injury related problems. The good news for Juve fans though is that Paul Pogba is now available for this crucial 2nd leg match having missed the 1st leg week with injury and he will be hoping to once again see his name on the score-sheet like he did in the 1-1 draw at the weekend at home against Cagliari.

Nothing between the two clubs on the recent form statistics as both have managed 3 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat in their previous five matches played, although with Juventus having remained unbeaten in their last four games and Real Madrid losing the 1st leg last week, the visitors would be the ones with the slight advantage.

Real Madrid v Juventus Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Going on what we saw from the first leg last week, I am sure everyone is expecting another very exciting game with plenty of goals and that maybe the case, but I just feel Juventus will try to defend very deep and try to hit Real Madrid with the counter attack that worked so well for the second goal in last weeks match and with Paul Pogba now back for the visitors, Real Madrid will certainly have their work cut out for them if they are to stand any chance of being the ones to progress through to the final.

We can’t obviously write the hopes of Real Madrid out though of overturning that first leg 2-1 score line as they do have an important away goal and if they did manage to score first in this game then Juventus would have no option but to move their back line further and further up the field and this could in fact play right into Real Madrid’s hands as with players like Bale and Ronaldo leading the attack, they do have two very quick forwards that seem to eat up the ground.

The average goals per game statistics are expecting this match to see at least a couple of goals scored and it wouldn’t surprise me at all to see this game head into extra time and even a penalty shoot-out and as such my Banker prediction for this game is going to be Total Match Goals 2 or 3.

My Saver will be for the game to replicate what we saw last week with the hosts winning 2-1 and the tie to conclude in a Penalty Shoot-Out.
