Lithuania v England Preview, Euro 2016 Qualification, Monday 12th October 2015

Lithuania will head into their final game of the group with confidence having secured a 1-1 draw against Slovenia last time out and with their opponnents England who have already booked their place at next summers final’s in France looking likely to field a lot of in-experienced players, the hosts will no doubt fancy their chances of causing of a bit of an upset on Monday night.

Lithuania have managed three wins so far in the group stage, two of those wins coming against whipping boys San Marino, but they did also beat Estonia 1-0 at home and with nothing to really lose in this final game I am expecting the hosts to put up a bit of a fight.

However, although England manager Roy Hodgson has already said that he will rest a lot of his star players for this final game, the players coming in still have bags of talent and should still be strong enough to see England end the group stage with a perfect record of ten wins from ten matches.

Lithuania Team News:

Defender Vytautas Andriuskevicius is a minor injury doubt, but all other players are fit to face England in the final Euro 2016 qualifier. Goalkeeper Giedrius Arlauskis returns from suspension to take his place between the sticks, but central defender Marius Zaliukas is suspended after earning the third yellow card of the campaign.

Newcomers Dziugas Bartkus and Ernestas Veliulis are unlikely to earn their first caps in this particular game, but Deimantas Petravicius could again play a part despite the lack of action at club level.

England Team News:

The England manager is leaving behind Joe Hart who is fit to play in the tenth and final qualifier, as well as James Milner, Cahill, Rooney and Carrick. Jack Butland will win just his second cap and his first in a competitive game. The England manager said that he wanted to give Hart and Milner a rest.

Delle Alli, Phil Jones, Jonjo Shelvey and Jamie Vardy will be among those drafted into the starting line-up, but John Stones, Fabian Delph, Leighton Baines, Danny Welbeck, Jordan Henderson and Jack Wilshere are all out injured. Daniel Sturridge lacks match fitness and is also unavailable.

Lithuania v England Head to Head Statistics:

Monday night’s game from the Vilniaus LFF stadionas will become only the 2nd meeting between the two nations over the years, the first match which took place back on the 27th March this year saw England run out comfortable 4-0 winners at Wembley Stadium.

Previous Average Goals Per Game Statistics

4 Goals have been scored in the previous 1 meeting between the two countries and this provides us with an overall average goals per game statistic of exactly 4.00.

Very little historical data to work from here as this match on Monday night is only the second meeting between the two countries, but based on what we saw in the first game which England won 4-0, many people will be expecting a similar score-line for this one.

Lithuania v England Match Betting Odds Market

Lithuania have nothting to play for in this game expect pride, but do head into this game having remained unbeaten during their last two group matches so confidence will be high. Unfortunately the online bookmakers don’t see any kind of shock in store as their  current best price of 10/1 with Bet365 – £200 Matched Bonus Bets for New Customers when Registering a New Account clearly suggests.

The Draw is another result that looks extremely unlikely going by the current best price of 22/5 with BetVictor – Receive £50 Free Bets when You Register a New Account, but does seem the best result the hosts can achieve on Monday night and could well be worth a little something on as your main cover option.

England are the very short price odds on favourites to win this game on Monday night which should not come as much of a surprise really considering they have won all of their previous nine group matches played and Roy Hodgson’s side are currenlty a best price of 1/3 with Betfred – Bet £10 Get £30 Free Bets for New Registering Accounts.

Lithuania v England Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Lithuania will probably see this game as their Euro 2016 Final on Monday night and with a packed out crowd expected at the Vilniaus LFF stadionas, the hosts will have plenty of home support.

Nobody is really expecting them to cause England any real problems though going by the current odds on offer from the online bookmakers, but I do have a sneaky feeling that England will not have this game all their own way and with the starting lineup likely to contain a large number of squad players, the hosts could possibly get on the score-sheet at least in my opinion.

Despite resting a number of first team players for this game, the squad Roy Hodgson has chose to make the trip to Lithuania is still a strong one and it should be win number ten for the three lions.

Onto some predictions then and my Banker Free Tip is going to be for England to Win Both Halves as although Lithuania will try to make a game of it, this England squad will prove too strong for the hosts in what should result in a comfortable victory.

My First Goalscorer Free Tip is going to be Leicester City’s James Vardy as he will be relishing the chance to show his manager that he has what it takes at International level to be included in the squad for the finals next summer in France.
