Swansea City v Leicester City Preview, Premiership, Sunday 12th February 2017.

Swansea City see an end to their two game winning run on Sunday when they did face the close to impossible task of beating Manchester City at the Etihad stadium. Things looked grim early on for the Welsh side who went 1 – 0 down just after ten minutes via a Gabriel Jesus opener. Swansea City equalized with nine minutes to go only to then concede in the dying seconds when Jesus netted again for the winner.

A point against Manchester City would of seen them swap places with Sundays opponents Leicester City, yet they still sit just above the relegation positions hoping to make their way further up the table with a win against the champions. Swansea City are the favourites in my opinion especially seeing as though they have played well since their new manager took over. I feel they could get back to winning ways at the expense of another Leicester City loss.

The champions did manage a win on Wednesday when they finally got round to playing their FA Cup replay against Derby County. They took the lead at the beginning of the second half yet conceded on the hour mark via a Abdoul Camara equalizer. The game went into extra time where things started to look bad for Leicester City with a potential loss on the horizon, yet somehow pulled two goals out of the back earning them a place in the 5th round.

The FA Cup is a nice competition to be winning in and Leicester City do have a chance of progressing past Millwall in the next round. Yet it is the Premiership they will be most concerned about as the club now sit just one point out of the relegation positions. With Hull City losing to Arsenal this weekend both sides here could distance themselves slightly with a win, and if things don’t improve then Leicester could be facing the drop.

Swansea City Team News:

Swansea City could offer new signing Jordan Ayew a debut start on Sunday with him previously being away at the African Nations Cup. Out injured however are Ki Sung-yueng (knee) and Jefferson Montero (hamstring), yet could we possibly see Leon Britton who has been suffering with his calf?

Leicester City Team News:

Leicester City boss Ranieri rested some players against Derby County in the FA Cup win, so we should see the return of Danny Drinkwater, Jamie Vardy, Kasper Schmeichel, Wes Morgan, Robert Huth and Riyad Mahrez. Demarai Gray has been exceptional so will be hoping he has done enough to impress to warrant a starting position. Slimani is out with a groin strain but has returned while Ulloa (thigh) is still out. New signing Molla Wague is also hoping to be involved.

Swansea City v Leicester City Head to Head Statistics:

Leicester City have enjoyed the wins against Swansea City in the last few years with the last time the Welsh have won back in 2014. In total we only have twelve fixtures recorded between the pair with Leicester City winning a total of nine. Swansea City have won just the three and will be hoping for another come Sunday. The two clubs have also yet to draw.

Previous Average Goals Per Game Statistics

In the ten games recorded between the two clubs we have seen a total of twenty six goals scored. This is going to give us a goals per game average of 2.6 which when looking at the above table looks to have happened very often. I’d be very happy going with the below selection for Sundays game.

Leicester City are in dire need of a Premier League win and could find themselves in the relegation positions soon if that doesn’t happen. Swansea City are the better team in form here even though they did lost to Manchester City recently. That loss however was extremely unlucky with Gabriel Jesus grabbing the winner with seconds remaining.

The Draw has yet to be seen between these two sides and I am wondering if Sundays result could be it. If I’m honest I am not leaning that way with the home win a more favorable option. The best odds on the draw can be seen here @ 12/5 with Betvictor – Bet £10 Get £60 when Registering a New Account

Leicester City are in desperate need of a league win with them dropping further down the table each week. It will be the relegation positions next week possibly so a win will only do for the champions. Swansea City v Leicester City Match Predictions, Banker Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets

Premier League action this weekend  will see the champions Leicester City face welsh side Swansea City who are the favourites to win themselves. Swansea City are at home and come into this game in some very good form. They did lose last weekend however which was against Manchester City, yet came so close to earning themselves a draw. A win against Liverpool and Southampton before that has got them out of the relegation zone.

Since Paul Clements has taken over Swansea City seem to have transformed into a completely different side and if they did manage to take a point from Manchester City would of been an excellent start. They are my favourites to win this game on Sunday which will see them climb up the table and go above Leicester City and Middlesbrough. They could also close the gap on Bournemouth who are unlikely to earn a point against Manchester City.

Although I am no Leicester City supporter, I hate to see them doing so badly right now in the Premier League. A win is possible on Sunday for Leicester City and if they did manage to do so then I would hope they can continue and move back up the table and out of trouble. But we need to be realistic here and consider both teams form coming into this game and it clearly sits in Swansea City’s corner here.

My predictions for this game will be based off both sides current form. So with that I am going to go with both sides to score in the game and for Swansea City to actually win the game and progress up the table rankings. Leicester City do have goals in them but I just feel Swansea City under their new manager are the stronger side for this game. My next will be for Swansea City to win the game 3 – 1 on the day.
