Arsenal v Manchester United Preview, Premiership, Wednesday February 12th 2014

Arsenal will be extremely dissapointed with their 5-1 thrashing over the weekend away to Liverpool a result that could have a huge say in which of the current top 4 clubs will be crowned Premiership Champions come May, but this game against a weak looking Manchester United could be just the tonic for Arsene Wengers men to bounce back to winning ways.

Manchester United were yet again looking like a side that just doesn’t have a clue when only managing a 2-2 draw against Fulham over the weekend at Old Trafford and manager David Moyes must be finding things very uncomfortable indeed and it does beg belief to see him still have a job at what was once the best side in the world.

Arsenal Team News:

Ramsey, Flamini, Walcott, Diaby and Kallstrom all continue to remain unavailable due to respective injury problems and Vermaelen will under take a late fitness test to see if he can be involved as he struggles with a calf problem.

Manchester United Team News:

Fellaini, Nani and Jonny Evans all look like being unvailable again for David Moyes as the continue to recover from respective injury problems. Phil Jones and Rio Ferdinand will under take a late fitness test to see if they can be involved.

Arsenal v Manchester United Head to Head Statistics:

Tuesday night’s game from the Emirates Stadium will become the 177th meeting between the two clubs over the years, of which Arsenal have won 60 (46 at the Emirates Stadium) times, Manchester United have won 76 times (23 at the Emirates Stadium), with the other 40 games (18 at the Emirates Stadium) having finished all square.

The previous 5 games played between the two clubs show Chelsea having a commanding advantage having won 3 games with Arsenal having won none and the other match finishing all square.

Arsenal have a clear advantage on the recent form stats having won 3, drawn 1 and lost 1 of their previous 5 matches played. Manchester United have only managed 1 win, 1 draw and 3 defeats in their last 5 played.

Arsenal v Manchester United Match Betting Odds Market

Arsenal are the clear favourites to win this game on tuesday night with a best price of 23/20 with Betfred (£25 Free Bets for New Customers) currently on offer, which for me looks decent value considering how poor their opponents have been this season.

The Draw is not a result that often happens when these two clubs have met each other in the past and even less in this fixture at the Emirates Stadium, but both sides will be desperate to get at least something from this game and I can see some punters getting on at a current best price of 5/2 with Ladbrokes (£50 Free Bets for New Customers) as their main saver bet in this game.

Manchester United are having an absoloute nightmare of a season and with things far from settled in the United camp and the supporters up in arms about David Moyes continued presence at the club, it’s obviously going to take a very brave person to back United to win this game on tuesday night at a current best price of 11/4 with Bet365 (£200 Free Bets for New Customers) although I don’t actually remember the last time Manchester United were ever an 11/4 shot to win a game, so despite their recent performances they do have the squad capable of winning this game and it does provide value in my opinion.

Arsenal v Manchester United Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Really difficult to give Manchester United much chance of winning this game, despite their impressive record against Arsenal over the years and with the hosts having been humiliated over the weekend up in Anfield by losing 5-1 they will certainly be out to put that result right in this game on tuesday night in front of their home fans.

Ramsey’s injury has been a major part why Arsenal are starting to struggle recently as the young welsh international really has been world class this season and for me Arsenal really miss his presence in the midfield area and that is obviously going to be the case again during this game.

I can’t really believe how bad Manchester United have been this season and a top 4 finish does look beyond them given recent performances which has seen them lose away to both Chelsea and Stoke and then only manage a 2-2 draw at home against bottom of the league Fulham.

David Moyes does have the squad available to him in my opinion to win games and with Van Persie now back and fully fit he could prove to be the key and I fancy the ducth international to keep up his goalscoring record since his return from injury and bag one against his old club on tuesday night.
