Newcastle United v Manchester United Preview

Newcastle United are having a very difficult time of it at the moment and having lost their last three league matches on the bounce, the club again finds themselves amongst the teams rooted at the bottom of the premiership league table.

Steve McLaren’s side main problem it seems at the moment is their strike force up front as they once again failed to score in any of those previous three defeats and the ex England manager must be frantically looking around Europe for a couple of new strikers that can save Newcastle United from relegation and until that happens, it does look like Newcastle United are destined for championship football next season.

Manchester United are also having a tough time of it at the moment and their manager Louis Van Gaal has come under increasing pressure over the past couple of months due to his sides failure to win matches and with rumours rife about the board looking for a replacement, it does seem that if Manchester United continue to lose touch with obtaining a top four finish this season Mr Van Gaal looks a certain casualty.

Like their hosts, Manchester United are also having problems scoring goals up front and we all saw them struggle to beat Sheffield United in the FA Cup over the weekend, their blushes saved once again by an injury time Wayne Rooney penalty who seems the only capable striker they have at the moment.

Newcastle United Team News:

The hosts have a number of players missing from this game due which include Tim Krul, Steven Taylor, Gabriel Obertan and Papiss Cisse who are all currently receiving treatment for respective injury related problems. Mitrovic and and Ayoze will most likely be the two main striker for this game with Wijnaldum, Sissoko and Tiote providing the support from midfield.

Manchester United Team News:

The visitors also have players missing for this game which include Marco Rojo, Luke Shaw, Antonio Valencia and Nick Powell.

There are also concerns over Phil Jones, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Ashley Young who will all undertake a late fitness test to see if any of them can be involved. Martial, Rooney and Depay look the likely attacking threat up front with support in behind being provided by Fellaini, Januzaj, Lingard and Mata.

Newcastle United v Manchester United Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Impossible to fancy Newcastle United to win this game as they really have been shocking to watch this season bar the odd couple of games where they have actually performed well and with their main striker Papiss Cisse unavailable for this game, I can’t see where the goals are going to come from for the hosts.

Mitrovic does have the ability to score goals, but without any real playmaker in their side it does seem that he will have to make his chances himself and that is going to prove very difficult against a well organised defence that United have.

Manchester United will probably still be counting their lucky stars after going through their 3rd round FA Cup tie at home against Sheffield United over the weekend, an injury time penalty despatched by Wayne Rooney saving the club from what would of been a very embarrasing result.

However, with the pressure on manager Louis Van Gaal, I do expect him to go with all three of his main attackers for this game and with Martial, Depay and Rooney all involved from the start I do expect Manchester United to win this game by the odd goal or two.

Onto some predictions then and my Banker Free Tip will be for Manchester United to Win as this does look the value play on what we have seen from both sides this season and with Newcastle United missing a number of key players through injury, the Manchester United squad does look a lot stronger.

My First Goalscorer Tip is going to be for Manchester United striker Anthony Martial to score the opening goal of the game as he does have the best stats in the United team for scoring first goals of the game.
