Swansea City v Chelsea Preview, Premiership, Sunday 11th September 2016.

Swansea City are not playing to their best currently having only won the once in the three Premiership games they have so far played. That came at the beginning of the season when they traveled to new comers Burnley and managed the 1 – 0 victory. Next followed up with a loss to the other promoted side Hull City and then champions Leicester City. They did however win in the League Cup, knocking out Peterborough United.

Although Swansea City are at home this Sunday they certainly are not the bookmakers favourites to come out winners and look dead cert to make it three Premier League loses in a row. What’s worse is that the Welsh side then face Manchester City twice after the Southampton game and will certainly be struggling for confidence.

Chelsea have been very good so far this season having won all four games in all competition. Three league wins and a League Cup victory see them currently second behind Manchester City who managed a 2 – 1 away win against bitter rivals Manchester United on Saturday. That said Chelsea haven’t played anyone yet of Manchester City’s caliber so it will be interesting to see what happens when they do meet.

This should be an easy routine win for Chelsea with them set as clear solid favourites to win this Sunday afternoon. They do next face Liverpool and then Arsenal in the Premier League, with a visit to champions Leicester City in between for the League Cup. With Chelsea set to win this Sunday we could see them sit top of the league after week four although will need to win with a three goal gap due to goal difference.

Swansea City Team News:

We should see new signing Alfie Mawson play some part in tomorrows game after he signed from Barnsley during the summer transfer window. Alongside him will be fellow defender Baston who has been passed fit. We do also see the Welsh fullback Neil Taylor return to the squad after an extended break as well as Jefferson Montero who has only just returned from international duty.

Chelsea Team News:

Chelsea still see defender Kurt Zouma out injured after a terrible knee injury he picked up against Manchester United last season. We do also see the new signing Marcos Alonso potentially featuring against Swansea City on Sunday with the Chelsea fans hoping to see how good their new man is.

Swansea City v Chelsea Head to Head Statistics:

In the last five head to head battles between these two sides we do see it is Chelsea who come out on top even though last season did see them lose and draw against the Welsh side. Apart from that they had won the previous three which is to be expected as they were champions that year. In total they have met 12 times with Swansea City only winning the twice, and Chelsea the six times leaving four draws.

Previous Average Goals Per Game Statistics

In the twelve games we have recorded we have seen a total of thirty one goals scored. This is going to give us a goals per game average of close to 2.6 which as we can see above is very out. That said Chelsea do seem to be reborn this season under their new manager, so we could easily expect to see the below result come Sunday.

Swansea City v Chelsea Recent Form All Competitions (Left to Right)

Swansea City: L W L W W

Chelsea:W W W W W

Swansea City have only managed the one league win out of the current three this season and are very unlikely to cause a repeat of last years win over Chelsea. Where as the away side here have won the last five games in all competition and are easily set as the bookmakers favourites come Sunday.

Swansea City v Chelsea Match Betting Odds Market

Swansea City may well be at home this Sunday yet as expected are clearly not the bookmakers favourites to walk away with all three points. In my opinion they would be extremely luckily to even walk away with a draw which again isn’t in my selection. Best odds of the home win found here @ 5/1 with Betfred – Bet £10 Get £30 Free Bets when Registering a New Account

The Draw is the best I can imagine Swansea City could hope for with four of the previous results seeing such. It isn’t one of the results I’d be going for however, with the away win more likely to be seen come Sunday. Best odds on the draw however can be seen here  @ 31/10 with Betvictor – Bet £10 Get £60 when Registering a New Account

Chelsea are as expected the clear and solid favourites to win this game on Sunday, with the result very possibly over by half time. I do fancy Chelsea to score at least two of three goals while conceding none. best odds on the away win found here @ 4/6 with Betfred – Bet £10 Get £30 Free Bets when Registering a New Account

Swansea City v Chelsea Match Predictions, Banker Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets

Sunday afternoon football can be found live in Wales with Swansea City welcoming Londoners Chelsea to the Liberty Stadium. The game is to be featured live on Sky Sports 1 and of course can be viewed in glorious High Definition. As we have already mentioned it is clearly the visitors who are seen as the favourites to win this game, especially with how well Chelsea have been playing thus far.

Swansea City did start their campaign off very well with a much deserved away win over the newly promoted Burnley, yet have since then only produced another win in the League Cup against Peterborough United, not exactly a hard feat at that. Although it is eary days I am sure Swansea City will not want to be lingering so close to the bottom anytime during this hard season.

Chelsea will want to continue their good run of winning form and prey that last seasons dreadful experience is long behind them. I am sure there will be a few hiccups here and there but so far it all looks good. They currently sit in second position behind Manchester City, yet a decent win against Swansea City this Sunday could see them once again top of the league.

With Chelsea set as the favourites to win this game it would be silly of me to imagine the underdogs winning this game even if they are at home this Sunday. My predictions are of course favouring the away win yet its the manner of how Chelsea do it that grabs my imagination. My banker I am planning to take Chelsea to win the game while also conceding zero goals which is giving some good odds currently. The next will be for Chelsea to win the game 3 – 0 on the day.
