Chelsea v Everton Preview, Premiership, Wednesday 11th February 2015

Chelsea head into this game on Wednesday night having had an excellent season so far, but did struggle to beat Aston Villa over the weekend 2-1 away from home and that result will certainly have caused some concern to manager Jose Mourinho as Aston Villa have struggled all season.

Everton made it three clean sheets on the bounce with a 0-0 draw at home against Liverpool in their match over the weekend, although the fans are still far from happy with how things are going at the moment at the club and any chance of securing a place in Europe for next season does look to have gone now as the ‘Toffee’s’ are finding it extremely difficult to win games at the moment and their chances in this one look remote at most.

Chelsea Team News:

Diego Costa remains unavailable for this game as he serves his final match suspension and Filipe Luis is also a major doubt for the hosts as he continues to fully recover from a calf problem. Cesc Fabregas does return to the starting lineup though having missed out on the last couple of matches due to a hamstring problem and this is a major boost for the hosts.

Everton Team News:

Leon Osman, Aiden McGeady and Steven Pienaar are all still unavailable for selection due to injury related problems. Leighton Baines could be back involved though having missed the 0-0 draw against Liverpool over the weekend and Tim Howard could also make his return between the sticks having now fully recovered from injury. Romelu Lukaku is likely to lead the attack up front for the visitors.

221 of those Goals have been scored in the previous 79 matches played between the two clubs at Stamford Bridge and this generates us an average goals scoring statistic for this game of 2.79.

Looking at both sets of data above it seems to strongly indicate that this game on Wednesday night should see a minimum of at least 2 goals scored.

Chelsea v Everton Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Based on what we have seen this season from both of these clubs and the fact that Everton have really struggled to win games in the last couple of months, this does look like a stonewall home banker for the hosts.

However, Aston Villa pushed Jose Mourinho’s side very close over the weekend and it does seem that the current league leaders do struggle to finish teams off without their goalscoring talisman Diego Costa on the pitch and although it does look highly unlikely, I can see Everton possibly causing a bit of a shock result at Stamford Bridge by picking up at least something from this game.

The average goals per game statistics are expecting this one to see between at least 2 or 3 goals scored, but I don’t think we will see many more than that, despite the reverse fixture having finished 6-3 to Chelsea as Everton do seem to be defending well in recent games and I can certainly see manager Roberto Martinez setting his side up to defend deep and play counter attack football.

My Banker prediction for this game is going to be for the game to see a total of 2 or 3 goals scored as I can see this one ending up in either a 1-1 draw or 2-1 to Chelsea.

My Saver prediction for this game will be for this game to see an Anytime Correct Score of Chelsea 2-1 as I definitely believe that Everton can get one at some point during this match.
