Brighton Hove Albion v AFC Bournemouth Preview, Championship, Friday 10th April 2015

Brighton will head into this game on Friday night having had a difficult season and with having lost their last two league games on the bounce and going up against current league leaders Bournemouth, another defeat looks on the cards for manager Chris Hughton’s side.

Bournemouth head into the game having shown tremendous character by fighting back from 2-0 down at home against Birmingham City last time out to win 4-2 and that victory now has them riding high at the top of the championship league table on 77pts and a point clear of both Norwich City and Watford who are right on their heels in second and third place respectively.

The visitors will know the importance of winning this game on Friday night as failure to do so could see them replaced at the top of the league table come Saturday evening and I fully expect Bournemouth to raise their game for this match and Brighton look in for a very uncomfortable evening indeed.

Brighton & Hove Albion Team News:

Sam Baldock, Andrew Crofts (both knee), Kemy Agustien (thigh) and Solly March (calf) all continue to receive treatment for respective injury related problems and remain unavailable. Captain Gordon Greer is also missing as he serves his final match ban after picking up a suspension, but goalkeeper David Stockdale does look likely to lineup in between the sticks having recovered from a knock picked up against Rotherham on Monday night.

Bournemouth Team News:

Tokelo Rantie (knee) continues to remain unavailable as he recovers from injury and Marc Pugh will be given a late fitness test to see if he can be included having now returned to training following an ankle injury.

Brighton & Hove Albion v Bournemouth Head to Head Statistics

Friday night’s fixture from the American Express Stadium will become the 20th meetings over the years of which Brighton & Hove Albion have won 6 times with 4 having came with home advantage and Bournemouth have also won 6 times, but none of those victories have came at the American Express Stadium.

7 Draws have taken place from those 19 meetings overall and 5 of those have came at the American Express Stadium which does seem to suggest that this game has a strong chance of finishing up all square.

As we can see in our head to head statistics table below which shows the previous five matches played between the two clubs over recent season’s, it has been the Draw that has dominated proceedings having happened an incredible 3 times with Bournemouth having won the remaining two matches.

01/11/14 CHA Bournemouth v Brighton 3 : 2
01/01/14 CHA Brighton v Bournemouth 1 : 1
30/11/13 CHA Bournemouth v Brighton 1 : 1
22/01/11 LEO Bournemouth v Brighton 1 : 0
09/10/10 LEO Brighton v Bournemouth 1 : 1

Previous Average Goals Per Game Statistics

51 Goals have been scored in the previous 19 matches played between the two clubs over the years and this provides us with an overall average goals per game statistic of 2.68.

27 of those Goals have came in the 9 previous matches played between the two clubs at the American Express Stadium and this generates us an average goal scoring statistic for this match of exactly 3.00.

Looking at both sets of data above and the results of the last five matches played between the two clubs, it does seem to strongly suggest that we should see a least a few of goals grace the back of the nets in this one on Friday night in front of the Sky Sports camera’s.

Brighton & Hove Albion are a current best price available of 16/5 with Paddy Power – Bet £10 & Receive £20 Free Bets for New Customers to win this game on Friday night which looks about right considering their performances recently and league position.

The Draw is currently a best price of 13/5 with Bet365 – £200 Matched Bonus Bets for New Customers and does seem the best result that the hosts could manage, but with Bournemouth playing so well even this looks highly unlikely.

Bournemouth are currently the clear favourites to win this game at a best price of 19/20 with Ladbrokes – £25 Free Bets for New Customers and this looks great value considering their recent performances and their excellent fight back victory against Birmingham City midweek.

Brighton & Hove Albion v Bournemouth Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Brighton certainly have it all to do here in this game as their performances this season have not been great at all and with just 6 wins from 20 matches played at the American Express Stadium this season, you can see why the club is situated towards the wrong end of the league table and it really would come as a huge shock to see them get anything from this game on Friday night.

Bournemouth are having an excellent season and their fight back from 2-0 down against Birmingham City midweek to win 4-2 secured their rightful place at the top of the championship league table and the players will no doubt have received a huge confidence boost as a result and for me the visitors look great value to win this game at their current best odds available.

The average goals per game statistics are expecting this game to see at least a couple of goals scored in this game and with Bournemouth having taken their season’s tally to an impressive 87 in that 4-2 win midweek they look to be the ones doing most of the scoring.

Onto some predictions now and this has been an easy decision for me as with the way Bournemouth are playing at the moment and having now gone top of the league table the confidence through out the whole club will be sky high and I fully expect them to win this game on Friday night in comfortable fashion.
