Real Madrid vs Schalke 04 Preview, Champions League, Tuesday 10th March 2015

Real Madrid are going through a tough time of the season by their standards with some poor results of late but they did win the 1st leg of this match over in Germany a few weeks ago by two goals to nil. I think with them taking a two goal lead into this match at home then this game should be somewhat of a formality. In the Champions league, Real Madrid are currently unbeaten in their last 10 games played winning nine of those with them winning all seven so far this season. In this incredible run they have only conceded one goal and I can’t see them conceding anymore on Tuesday night. The worrying thing for the Spanish team is that they have only won three of their last six games played.

Schalke 04 will need to have the game of their lives if they are to turn this game around and qualify for the quarter finals of the competition. Schalke will feel they are most definitely in with more of a chance than at they same stage of the 2014 Champions league as then they were 6-1 down to the Spanish team however, the result is likely to be the same which is Schalke 04 exiting the competition at the last 16 stage.

Real Madrid Team News:

Manager Carlo Ancelotti will be without James Rodriguez as he has a fractured metatarsal. Sergio Ramos is also set to miss out with a torn muscle. Real Madrid have no suspensions going into this game which will delight the manager.

Schalke 04 Team News:

Manager Roberto Di Matteo has no less than seven players missing going into this game as, Obasi, Kirchhoff, Farfan, Draxler, Aogo, Farhmann and Gieffer have respective injury problems. Schalke also have no players suspended.

Real Madrid vs Schalke 04 Head to Head Statistics:

Real Madrid: W W W D L

Schalke 04: L W D L W

It is clear to see that both sides haven’t been in great form in their last 5 matches and therefore we have to say Real Madrid look the more likely of the two sides as Leicester have lost two of their last five ames played.

Real Madrid vs Schalke 04 Average Goals Per Game Statistics

In the 3 games these two teams have played against each other there was a total of 13 goals, which gives us an average goals per game statistic of 4.33.

Neither side have been in prolific goal scoring form as of late but that could change on Tuesday Night because Schalke need goals which will leave space for Madrid to counter-attack.

Real Madrid vs Schalke 04 Match Betting Odds Market

Real Madrid are at home on Tuesday night and I think that will give them a lot of encouragement to go and get the win along with their fantastic performances in Europe recently. I expect Ronaldo to be the one causing Shalke problems. The best price is 1/5 with LadBrokes – £25 Free bets for New Customers.

The Draw is a more unlikely outcome than Real Madrid winning however, it is a more like outcome than Schalke winning the game. In the only three matches played between the two clubs there has been no draws. The best price is 13/2 with PaddyPower – £50 Free Bets for New Customers.

Schalke 04 travel to the Bernabeu in terrible form and I cannot foresee them winning this game, I imagine Schalke will not score a single goal as I think Real Madrid have too much quality for the German side. The best price is 14/1 with BetVictor – £25 Free Bets for New Customers.

Real Madrid vs Schalke Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

This has been a very difficult period for Real Madrid but this is a chance to build up some confidence again with the knowledge that they have a 2-0 lead over the German side going into this game. A game against Barcelona is coming up in a couple of weeks and Real Madrid will need to be at their best if they are going to beat their bitter rivals.

Even on this bad run Real Madrid have been pretty good at home and I think this will be a good game for them to get back to winning ways as Schalke really have found it difficult in the Champions league over the years and especially against the top teams in the competition.

In the last three games played against each other the past 12 months Real Madrid have won all of the games and have not struggled to find the net. The average goals per games statistics is over four goals per game however, I am not sure that this will be the case in this game though.

My Banker for this game is going to be Real Madrid race to three goals as I feel they have too much quality for the German team and with the likes of Ronaldo, Benzema, Isco and Bale they should not have too many problems finding the back of the net in front of their home fans.

My Saver is going to be a correct score of 3-0 to Real Madrid as I can’t really see Schalke 04 scoring in this game as without seven players due to injury their chances are going to be limited at best and it would come as a bit of a shock to see them score in this game.
