Liverpool v Tottenham Hotspur Preview, Premiership, Tuesday 10th February 2015.

We have a few Premiership games for you this Tuesday night where Liverpool will want to put that goalless derby draw behind them with a good solid home win against the London based club. It wont be an easy task however as Tottenham Hotspurs come into this game off the back of their own derby game, in which they managed to overturn bitter rivals Arsenal 2 – 1. Liverpool before that game see off Championship side Bolton Wanderers with a 2 – 1 win in the FA Cup forth round replay. They now face fellow Premiership side Crystal Palace in the fifth round and either way we will once again see another Premiership side exit the competition.

Tottenham Hotspurs will be full of confidence for this away game to Liverpool after playing exceptionally well at White Hart Lane against rivals Arsenal. The winning result isn’t a common thing for Spurs against Arsenal, yet it is the second time it has happened at home in the Premiership in their last five encounters. Arsenal took the early lead with a Mesut Ozil goal, but new club super hero Harry Kane came to the rescue with a brace. The first came just before the hour mark, with the winner coming late in the game with four minutes remaining.

 Liverpool Team News:

Liverpool are without a few players for this game with the biggest worry being that of talented midfielder Adam Lallana with a groin strain. The next is Brad Jones with a thigh muscle strain while the last is John Flanagan with a torn hamstring. Daniel Sturridge is working on his match fitness currently with him not starting against Everton last weekend. Yet is getting back to full fitness after a lengthy five months absent.

Tottenham Hotspur Team News:

Tottenham Hotspurs have no injury worries right now and currently have a clean bill of health coming into this game. Harry Kane adds another couple of goals to his tally after his brace against Arsenal this weekend, with him now scoring 12 league goals with a further 10 in other competitions. Nacer Chadli didn’t start against Arsenal and got little time to further impress the critiques. The Belgian international has so far scored 7 Premiership goals while assisting 5 in total.

Liverpool v Tottenham Hotspur Head to Head Statistics:

We have a total of 146 games recorded where Liverpool have enjoyed the better results with 68 wins to Tottenham Hotspurs 42. Meaning we also have 36 draws played out.

 Liverpool: D W W L D

Tottenham Hotspur: W W D L W

Tottenham Hotspurs recent win over Arsenal does see them just tip Liverpool with the better form result. Liverpool only managed a goalless draw away from home to Everton with it easily going either way in the Merseyside Derby.

Liverpool v Tottenham Hotspur Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Premiership action this week comes to us live at Anfield on BT Sports 1 High Definition, where Liverpool welcome Tottenham Hotspurs. It’s the last Premiership game for nearly two weeks as Liverpool themselves face Crystal Palace next in the FA Cup 5th Round and then Besiktas in the Europa League competition after failing to qualify for the Champions League knockout stages. Tottenham Hotspurs are also in the Europa League and face Italian side Fiorentina at home for the first leg of the knock out stages.

Tottenham Hotspurs are seen as the better side in form right now and it will no doubt be down to that famous victory against Arsenal this weekend in yet again another exciting local derby. Liverpool were away from home to Everton in their own derby game, yet failed to capitalize on Everton’s poor form this season with a win of their own. The game ended as a boring score draw, yet the game could of gone either way anytime during the match.

My predictions for this game will at first back Liverpool to draw the game somehow, with the other being against the odds seeing Tottenham Hotspurs win the game after ninety minutes. So for the first lets go for a correct score of 2 – 2 on the night. I did at first fancy the 1 – 1, yet looking at how easily these two score against each other, it doesn’t come as too much a surprise that four goals in the game isn’t that impossible. For the next I am going to go for a cheeky Spurs win, with Harry Kane the scorer. So for this it will be for Kane to Score and Tottenham Hotspurs to win the match.
