Everton v Sunderland Preview, Premiership, Saturday 9th May 2015.

Everton ended their good run last week when they had to try and fight off an Aston Villa side who are doing everything possible to avoid the relegation fight happening so close below them. Everton themselves are safe from that prospect even though they did lose 3 – 2, yet in themselves will be extremely disappointed with their table position after qualifying for the Europa League last season. Everton will know that their opponents will be throwing everything at them on Saturday, especially as Sunderland are currently in the relegation zone.

Sunderland have put in a couple of good performances recently with them recently beating Southampton who were at some point fighting for a top four finish. A win on Saturday for Sunderland could see them once again pull out of the relegation zone and also having three games left to try and stay clear of the drop. It’s going to be very tough for Sunderland however, who also have Arsenal and Chelsea left to play, as well as Leicester City who are also hoping to avoid the drop. If Sunderland manage to beat Everton and Leicester City, they could just possibly stay up although that would also depend on other sides results over the closing weeks.

Everton Team News:

Everton are without four players this weekend with Bryan Oviedo the first due to a metatarsal fracture. Steven Pienaar is also injured with a knock, although could possibly feature from the bench. Hibbert is missing with a knock also while Darren Gibson is once again injured due to a metatarsal fracture.

Sunderland Team News:

Sunderland have a defensive issue right now and could be missing John O’shea who suffered concussion. Striker Steven Fletcher is a regular on the list with an ankle issue this time. While we also see Alvarez out due to his knee. Wes Brown (knee) and Emanuele Giaccherini (ankle) are also unavailable for selection.

In recent weeks we have seen Everton as a side in great form, although that did come to an end when they faced relegation fighting side Aston Villa. Yet Sunderland have also done well recently and won and drawn their last two fixtures as they fight to climb out of the bottom three.

Everton v Sunderland Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Premiership action is soon to come to an end with only a few games left to play for most sides. This game between Everton and Sunderland can be seen live on BT Sports 1 High Definition and looks set to be an exciting one with Sunderland looking to fight for their Premiership survival. They have yet to play both Arsenal and Champions Chelsea so the chances of them earning points there are considered to be extremely slim.

Everton were in great form until they lost last weekend to Aston Villa in a 3 – 2 thriller. Even though Everton’s final table finish can’t end that much better they would of still liked to of won the game and end the season with plenty of winning results. Sunderland themselves are in trouble and unless they win against Everton and Leicester City I do feel things can go from bad to worse with them one of the potential sides to be relegated.

My predictions for this game will actually see Sunderland win the game in a scrappy fight to the final ninetieth minute and I also feel we could possibly see a sending off or two as teams become frustrated. Both of my predictions will be for Sunderland to earn a result, with one a draw and the other a win of some sort. So for that I am going to go for a correct scoreline of 1 – 1. While the next will be for Connor Wickham to be the hero again and score the winning game.
