Real Sociedad v Levante Preview, Primera La Liga, Sunday 9th February 2014

Real Sociedad come into this game on the back of two loses so their confidence could of taken a slight knock, but then both loses have been against Barcelona and Atletico Madrid and away from home. Real Sociedad are one of the few teams looking to battle it out for that prestigious 4th place finish which will give them entry into Europe’s most famous competition. The loss to Barcelona was in the Copa del Rey 1st leg so thankfully enough for Real Sociedad it would not of effected their league standings.

Levante also lost to Barcelona in the Copa del Rey last month and came away with a 9 – 2 loss over both legs. There exit will allow Levante to concentrate on continuing to gain points to avoid the relegation battle happening just 8 points below them. With the way they are playing and picking up points here and there I cannot see them as a side who would need to worry too much in regards to relegation this year. In the last 5 games Levante have won 2, drawn 2 and lost just 1 which is given them some much needed confidence.

Real Sociedad v Levante Team News

Real Sociedad Team News:

Real Sociedad have just 3 injury worries with all of them being Spanish. The first is Dani Estrada  is sits out with a thigh strain and next is De La Bella who is suffering with an ankle issue. The last is Granero is is Real Sociedad’s only long term injury and will be out for a while longer with knee ligament damage.

Levante Team News:

Levante themselves only have a couple of injuries with the first being Portuguese Sergio Pinto who is out with a knee injury. the 2nd and the last of their injury list is Hector Rodas who will be out for a little longer with a hamstring recovery.

Real Sociedad v Levante Head to Head Statistics

In the last 5 head to head statistics we can see that it is Levante who are the better side here and even if we look at the 15 games we have recorded we can see nothings changed with Levante winning 7 games to Real Sociedad’s 3. Levante have however only won 1 time away from home and also drew 5.

Previous Average Goals Per Game Statistics

In these 15 games played in the past we have see a good 36 goals scored which is giving us an average of 2.4 goals per game and with looking at the last 5 head to heads I would say that could be a little unstable.

Real Sociedad v Levante Recent Form (Left to Right)

Real Sociedad: L L W W W

Levante: D L W L D

Levante’s form looks very bad in the last 5 games but we need to consider that they have played Barcelona 3 times last month where they lost twice and drew the other. Real Sociedad have also played Barcelona and lost recently which inevitably see them exit the Copa del Rey. The other game they lost was to top of the league Atletico Madrid.

Real Sociedad v Levante Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Taking everything into account both teams are in okay form right now if we take away all those expected loses to Barcelona. Three of the four loses are owned by Levante who had to face the Spanish Champions twice in the Cope del Rey in which ended 9 – 2 on aggregate and then also a loss in the La Liga. Barcelona are also mentioned again as they also beat Real Sociedad in the 1st leg of the next round and now see’s Real Sociedad needing to win by 3 goals at their home ground in the 2nd leg.

Real Sociedad are the team who you would want to put your money on when seeing see two face each other on Sunday, due to Levante only winning once away from home to Real I am not sure they have it in them to grab their 2nd win just yet. Granted Real Sociedad may of lost their last two games recently but that was playing away to current leaders Atletico Madrid and then also Barcelona as mentioned above.

So lets get down to some predictions. The first I am going for is a 2 – 0 win by Real Sociedad, with the way they are playing right now I just feel it could be a scoreline seen when these two meet on Sunday. The other I am going for is both teams to score and for Real Sociedad to win.
