AFC Bournemouth v Newcastle United Preview, Premiership, Saturday 7th November 2015.

A chance for Bournemouth to earn some much needed points this weekend when they face one of the three teams currently below them in the table right now. The club started the season playing well and unlucky with results and in the last five game have seriously dipped in form with four loses and a 1 – 1 draw against Watford. Although they have the home advantage this Saturday lunchtime, it will certainly not be an easy game as Newcastle United themselves look to improve on their current run of poor form. Bournemouth have only won four games all season, with two of these seen in the Capital One Cup knocking out Hartlepool United and Preston North End, they have since then been knocked out themselves having lost recently to Liverpool in the 4th round. A win on Saturday could see them level with Chelsea and four points out of the relegation zone.

Newcastle United looked like a completely different team a few weeks back when they won their first game of the season against Norwich City. Not only did they win, they won scoring an incredible six goals while conceding two. The following weekend see them lose disappointingly in their local derby match against Sunderland, which was ruined by the wrongful dismissal of club captain Fabricio Coloccini just before half time. The clubs last opponents of the month was Stoke City, who themselves haven’t been the best this season with only six points between them and the relegation positions. Newcastle United may well be away from home this Saturday, yet should really be winning a game such as this if they look to stay in the Premier League. A loss will be a complete disaster, putting four points between them and Bournemouth.

AFC Bournemouth Team News:

Bournemouth are without four players for this fixture, with Tommy Elphick being the first with ankle ligament damage. The next is Irishman Mark Gradel who is out long term with an ACL knee ligament issue, while Cakkum Wilson also nurses the same injury and wont be back anytime soon. The next is also a long term absentee Tyrone Mings who is recovering from an MCL knee ligament injury.

Newcastle United Team News:

Newcastle United have a couple of extra injured players missing from selection which could be a reason why they are struggling so badly this season. Steven Taylor is still out nursing a knock while Karl Darlow has an ankle injury. We then see Rolando Aarons outdue to a sore calf. Emmanuel Riviere, Jack Colback and Tim Krul are all unavailable with knee injuries, although Krul’s is the worst with it being is ligaments.

AFC Bournemouth v Newcastle United Head to Head Statistics:

It’s been an incredible amount of time since these last two sides played and I had to look beyond my usual information source and find if the two had met before in the past. It’s been over twenty years since these two clubs have met and it is Bournemouth who have had the better results with an FA Cup victory and before that a home win in the English Second Division.

Previous Average Goals Per Game Statistics

In the four games played previously we have seen a total of ten goals scored altogether and this is going to give us a goals per game average of 2.5. It is a nice solid option and would of been a good match for the below prediction for Saturdays game.

Surprisingly enough it is in fact the away side Newcastle United who are the team in slight better form and only due to the fact they have at least managed to win one game in the last five fixtures in all competitions. Bournemouth will be the favourites to win the game, although lets be honest and say it could very well go either way come Saturday.

AFC Bournemouth v Newcastle United Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Premiership action this Saturday lunchtime comes to us live via BT Sports 1 in High Definition and features home side Bournemouth verses fellow strugglers Newcastle United. Both clubs are fighting for premiership survival and if things don’t improve soon could very well be facing relegation come the end of the season. Bournemouth were favourites to go straight back down come the end of the season, and at first I was seeing that the bookmakers may of been wrong with the side looking pretty decent. But a continued run of bad form and lack of results have seen Bournemouth slip down into seventeenth  and only a point ahead of Newcastle United who currently occupy one of the dreaded three relegation spots.

Newcastle United looked to of overcome their dismal run of bad form with an incredible high scoring win over Norwich City, but since then fell fowl to bitter rivals Sunderland in a 3 – 0 romp. The fans continue to be unhappy with the poor performances against their rivals and it has been some time since Newcastle United have beaten Sunderland. A goalless draw against Stoke City see the club grab another much needed point and if they can manage an away win on Saturday they could be just a point behind current champions Chelsea who are in fifteenth. A win for Bournemouth will see them only climb the one spot above Norwich City, and be on level points with Chelsea.

My predictions for this Saturdays game do tend to lean more towards statistics than which club will win, and predicting a winner out of these two teams does seem to be proving quite difficult. For my banker I am planning to go for two goals being scored on the day, which although may not be the best of odds is at least positive somewhat. The next I am going for is both teams to score and for Bournemouth to win the game come the end of ninety minutes.
