Scotland v Germany Preview, Euro 2016 Qualification, Monday 7th September 2015

Scotland’s defeat away against Georgia over the weekend now means that Gordon Strachan’s side must win at least one of their remaining three matches left in the group and hope the Republic of Ireland lose all their remaining three matches to stand any real chance of making it through to the play off.

The bad news for Scotland fans is that they face group leaders Germany in this game on Monday night who comfortably beat Poland 3-1 over the weekend and with their next game at home against Poland which will no doubt be another tough game, it does seem their only hope of picking up that win needed to keep them in contention will have to be away against bottom of the group Gibraltar.

Germany can book their place in next summer’s finals with a victory in this game and with the ease of how they beat Poland on Friday night 3-1 I would fully expect the visitors to play a strong side and go for the victory in this one as the manager can then use the final two matches to rest some of his star players and provide him with a chance to look at some of the younger talent he has available to him.

Scotland Team News:

Georgia have not won at home in a competitive fixture in almost three years and in that time have only managed to score one goal which is a terrible statistic to hold. Since the nations new manager Kahkaber Tshkadadze took over from Temuri Ketsbaia they have yet to score a goal or earn a point, yet seems a little harsh when his first two games in charge were away to Poland and first of all at home to World Champions Germany.

Germany Team News:

Since Bournemouth have been promoted to the Premiership, midfielder Matt Ritchie is hoping to hold down his international position after an impressive set of games. We see Grant Hanley return from injury yet has to be careful not to pick up a booking as he will then miss the game against Germany on Monday. Striker Chris Martin and Allan McGregor have returned from injury and will no doubt play some part in both games in the coming days.

Scotland v Germany Head to Head Statistics:

Monday night’s game from Hampden Park Stadium will become the 7th meeting between the two nations over the years, of which Scotland have managed to win one but none having came with home advantage.

Germany have an impressive record of having managed four victory with two of those having came away from home and as we can see from our head to head statistics table below, the previous five meetings between the two countries also shows that Germany with a commanding advantage having won three compared to Scotland having only won one.

Previous Average Goals Per Game Statistics

12 Goals have been scored in the previous 6 meetings between the two countries and this provides us with an overall average goals per game statistic of exactly 2.00.

5 of those Goals have came in the 3 previous matches played at Hampden Park Stadium and this generates us an average goal scoring statistic of 1.67.

Based on both sets of data shown above the numbers do seem to indicate that this game is unlikely to see more than a couple of goals scored on Monday night and Total Match Goals 2 or 3 and Under 2.5 Goals both look appealing from a betting point of view.

Both countries have similar recent form having won three, drawn one and lost one of their previous five matches played, but one would think that Germany are going to prove too strong for the ‘Tartan Army’ the longer this game goes on and win this match.

Scotland v Germany Match Betting Odds Market

Scotland will probably still be suffering from shock having lost 1-0 away against Georgia over the weekend as that defeat has now really made it virtually impossible for them to secure automatic qualification to the Finals next summer, so no real surprise to see the online bookmakers offering up a current best price of 15/2 with Betvictor – £50 Free Bets for New Customers when Registering a New Account for Gordon Strachan’s side to some how win this game on Monday night.

The Draw has not been a common result when these two nation’s have met previously but it certainly would help Scotland out in helping them at least make the play off’s and this can be had at a current best price of 15/4 with Bet365 – Receive £200 Matched Bets when You Register a New Account

Germany will see this match as an early chance to book their place in next summers Finals in France and the online bookmakers seem to agree as they have the visitors priced up as the clear odds on favourites to win this match at current best odds of 4/9 with Betfred – Bet £10 Get £30 Free Bets for New Registering Accounts

Scotland v Germany Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Unlikely that we will be for another shock result in this one as I really don’t see Germany making any mistakes of adding another 3pts to their tally which definitely see’s them qualify for the Finals next summer in France and after a convincing 3-1 victory last Friday night against Poland that result will only have made the players even more confident of winning this game.

Scotland will obviously be suffering a bit on the confidence front as their 1-0 defeat on Friday night away against Georgia really did come as a shock result to everyone and has really damaged any realistic hopes they did have of securing at least a second place finish in the group table and now the players must try to concentrate on obtaining the play off spot ahead of the Republic of Ireland.

On a positive note for Scotland they certainly have not been put to the sword when coming up against Germany in the past at Hampden Park and with a sell out crowd expected and firmly behind their team, the Germans will obviously find the game a difficult one.

However, for me this German side has too many world class individuals to even contemplate them not winning this match and I fully expect the visitors to win this game in comfortable fashion come Monday night.

As such my Banker Free Tip for this game is going to be for Germany – 1 Handicap as I would expect the visitors to win by at least two clear goals having easily beaten Poland 3-1 on Friday night.

My First Goalscorer Free Tip is going to be for Mario Gotze to open up the scoring as with two in the Poland victory on Friday night he will certainly be in the mood to add more to his tally.
