Bristol City v Swindon Town Preview, League One, Tuesday 7th April 2015.

In the last month we haven’t seen many results go Bristol City’s way with them drawing three out of their last five League One fixtures. It has however kept them top of the table and a healthy eight points clear of closest challengers Preston North End. Tuesday nights fixture is going to a tough one even with them being at home, as Swindon Town will be fighting for victory in a bid to push for an automatic promotion spot which is currently seven points outside their grasp. Bristol City have three very tough matches coming up including this one on Tuesday, as they next face second placed Preston North End away and then seventh place Bradford City who are desperately battling for a play off finish.

Swindon Town have experienced top of the table this season which was of course only a month or two ago, yet some poor results have allowed them to drop far too many points lately as they have lost twice in their last five League One appearances, both of which were at their home ground. Tuesday will be a tough game for Swindon Town, although they do have four easier fixtures coming up in which they should grab the full amount of points on offer. If they do achieve those four victories it could see them seriously apply a respectable amount of pressure on the top three and we could potentially see a swap of places depending on results.

Bristol City Team News:

Bristol City have been exceptional in this final run in to the season and we can see their top scorer is the veteran Aaron Wilbraham who has so far scored fifteen League One goals, as well as assist in five, making him a very valuable member of Steve Cotterill’s squad. Flint (9), Agard (9),Emmanuel-Thomas (7) and Freeman (7) have all contributed a fair share of League One goals this season and shows a true team effort in their bid for promotion into the Championship.

Swindon Town Team News:

Swindon Town have this season got a twenty goal striker in Andrew Williams, and I can still see the twenty eight year old continuing his good run come the end of the season. Michael Smith is another striker who has done well this season having scored twelve League One goals himself, while their third striker Jonathan Obika having scored eight so far. There has been twenty three other league goals scored this season by Swindon Town, which can be spread among the rest of the squad.

Bristol City v Swindon Town Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

League One action on Tuesday is coming to us live on Sky Sports 1 High Definition and features top of the league Bristol City verses promotion challengers Swindon Town. Both teams have dropped points in recent weeks and months, although Bristol City have still been grinding out draws which is keeping them top of the League One table. Swindon Town were top at one point, yet five League One loses in their last ten games has proven to be their downfall as they drop down to fourth and out of the automatic promotion spots.

With that form taken into account by Swindon Town, questions are starting to be asked if the club can continue their push for promotion via the play off’s. they are thirteen points ahead of Bradford City who are in seventh and do also have a couple of games in hand which could save them if performances do continue to drop. Bristol City may of drawn three of their last five games, yet they are still top with a comfortable eight point gap ahead of Preston North End, thirteen points also in front of MK Don’s and the play off positions. So realistically Bristol City are top favourites to be promoted without fail this season.

My predictions for Tuesday nights fixture will see one of two results come in hopefully. The first will be a win by home side Bristol City, as they are the better team in form here. The next will be for a draw, as I feel if Swindon Town do perform then that result is very well within their grasp, and for that I plan to take a goalless draw on the night. The Bristol City win I am going for is a correct score of 1 – 0 on the night.
