2015/16 Premiership Season Preview

August 6, 2015 | By

Ladbrokes Free BetsThe English Premiership returns this weekend much to the delight of every football fan around the country and we have put together some information on who we believe will be the main contenders to finish in the top four and bottom four this season.

The action kicks off on Saturday afternoon with Manchester United playing host against Tottenham Hotspur with the whole game being broadcast live on BT Sports 1 High Definition with a 12:45pm (BST) Kick Off Time.

2015/16 Premiership Season Preview

Many people will probably expect the top four positions to be filled by the same four teams that finished there last season and this is certainly a strong possibility as all the clubs have made significant changes to their squad over the summer break with new signings.

Top Four Contenders

Chelsea :- The current defending champions after an almost flawless season in which Jose Mourinho’s side lost just three times during their thirty-eight matches played. Diego Costa made an immediate impact with an impressive twenty goals and with Jose Mourinho having added a few new faces to the squad over the summer with the likes of Asmir Begovic £8.0m (Stoke City), Juan Cuadrado £26.1m (Fiorentina), Falcoa Loan (Monaco) and Danilo Pantic Undisclosed (Partizan Belgrade) the squad does look as strong as ever and if Chelsea can capture the signing of Everton’s John Stones then that will only add further strength and depth to an already colossal squad of players.

Our Predicted Finishing Position – 2nd

Current Best Odds to Win Title – 7/4 with Ladbrokes – £50 Free Bets for New Customers

Manchester City :- Runners up last season and eight points behind title winners Chelsea despite winning their last six matches on the bounce. Manuel Pellegrini has a lot to prove this season and it will surely be his last in charge if his side fail to win the title. New faces brought into the club over the summer include Raheem Sterling £49.0m (Liverpool), Patrick Roberts £12.0m (Fulham) and Fabian Delph £8.0m (Aston Villa).

Our Predicted Finishing Position – 3rd

Current Best Odds to Win Title – 3/1 with Paddy Power – £30 Free Bets for New Customers

Arsenal :- Finished in third place last season but will be looking to finish higher up this time around after their excellent display in the Community Shield last weekend when beating Chelsea 1-0. Arsene Wenger has a strong squad and although only Petr Cech £10.0m (Chelsea) has been added over the summer, he has already shown during the pre-season matches that he could turn out to be the best signing of the season and the gunners for me have an excellent chance of being involved in the title fight this time around.

Our Predicted Finishing Position – 1st

Current Best Odds to Win Title – 4/1 with Bet365 – £200 Matched Bonus Bets for New Customers

Manchester United :- A fourth place finish last season which will have gone a long way to install some confidence back into the fans minds, however Louis Van Gal’s side finished a massive seventeen points behind Chelsea and they will need to improve a great deal to see that gap get any shorter this time around. Memphis Depay £31.0m (PSV Eindhoven), Morgan Schneiderlin £25.0m (Southampton) Bastian Schweinsteiger £14.4m (Bayern Munich) and Matteo Darmain £12.7m (Torino) have been purchased over the summer break, but only time will tell if these players are going to be enough to see United return back to their very best.

Our Predicted Finishing Position – 4th

Current Best Odds to Win Title – 11/2 with Coral – £20 Free Bets for New Customers

Relegation Contenders

Sunderland :- Were very lucky to avoid relegation last season and I don’t really see any of their new signings over the summer break of Sebastian Coates £2.0m (Liverpool), Adam Matthews £2.0m (Celtic), Younes Kaboul Undisclosed (Tottenham) and Jeremain Lens Undisclosed (Dynamo Kiev) really being good enough to add much to their current squad and another very difficult season awaits all Sunderland fans by the looks of it.

Our Predicted Finishing Position – Relegation

Current Best Odds for Relegation – 9/4 with Betfred – £30 Free Bets for New Customers

Bournemouth :- Won the Championship Title last season in impressive fashion scoring ninety-eight times from their forty-six matches played, but this is a huge step up in class and with no real star player having been brought in over the summer break, Bournemouth will have to be at their very best to avoid going straight back down. New signings made by the club consist of Tyrone Mings £8.0m (Ipswich Town), Christian Atsu Loan (Chelsea), Filippo Costa Loan (Chievo), Sylvain Distin (Free), Adam Federici (Free), Joshua King Undisclosed (Blackburn).

Our Predicted Finishing Position – Relegation

Current Best Odds for Relegation – 3/2 with Sky Bet – £20 Free Bets for New Customers

Norwich City :- Won the play-off final at Wembley Stadium against Middlesbrough to book their place in Premiership, but whether or not they have the squad to stay up is anyone’s guess. New signings brought in over the summer break consist of Robbie Brady £7.0m (Hull City), Graham Dorrans £3.0m (West Bromwich Albion), Andre Wisdom Loan (Liverpool), Anthony Andreu Undisclosed (Hamilton), Jake Kean (Free), Youssouf Mulumbu (Free) and like Bournemouth, I just don’t see any of those players being good enough to keep Norwich City from going straight back down come the end of the season next May.

Our Predicted Finishing Position – Relegation

Current Best Odds for Relegation – 5/4 with ToteSport – £25 Free Bets for New Customers

So there we have it, the top four from last season should again be the ones battling it out for the Premiership Title and from the teams that have come up from the Championship, it does look like at least two of them will be heading straight back down.

On a brighter note though, the Football Season is Back !
