Wolves v Leeds United Preview, Championship, Monday 6th April 2015

Wolverhampton Wanderers are hoping to end their season on an all time high with a potential promotion into the Premiership by a play off position finish. To be honest they are only seven points off of league leaders Middlesbrough so technically they could also be in the running for an automatic promotion finish if they do manage to win their remaining games. They do have a couple of tough opponents coming up including Middlesbrough and Ipswich Town, and if they manage to win them they could potentially start dreaming of the big league once again. Leeds United suffered a heavy defeat on Saturday which will provide Wolves with an injection of confidence as they hope to complete the next 90 minutes with an easy win.

Leeds United were doing okay against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday before the sending off of Rudolph Austin just before half time. Eventually Leeds United collapsed with just ten man when Blackburn Rovers eventually opened the flood gates with three well taken goals. Before that we did see Leeds United on a good run of form with a couple of wins and draws which did see them climb up the table somewhat over the last month. Wolves away from home will no doubt be a very tough encounter and taking three points on Monday may well be seen as unlikely, yet still this Leeds side will certainly fight and give it a solid go.

Wolves Team News:

Wolverhampton Wanderers have a number of players all getting involved with the responsibility of scoring goals, although there isn’t any players who stand out having scored an impressive amount of goals. The closest we have is Bakary Sako on thirteen league goals, while fellow countryman Nouha Dicko having scored ten.

Leeds United Team News:

Leeds United will be without Rudolph Austin who suffered a straight red card on Saturday against Blackburn Rovers. The clubs top scorer right now is the Italian veteran Mirko Antenucci who has so far netted on ten occasions in the league. Close behind is young English midfielder Alex Mowatt who has so far scored eight.

Leeds United: L D W D W

Although we have seen Leeds United improve over their last five games that good run did come to an abrupt end when they were on the receiving end of a 3 – 0 hammering by Blackburn Rovers. Wolves are in great form themselves and we could see them as potential promotion material.

Wolves v Leeds United Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Championship bank holiday action continues on Sky Sports 1 High Definition with the late kick off featuring home side Wolverhampton Wanderers, looking to overturn the recently beaten side of Leeds United. A win for Wolves could see them climb into the play off’s, but will of course depend on other results from Brentford, Derby County and Ipswich Town. Leeds United are seen as unlikely winners, yet if they did manage it they could jump a couple of places.

Both sides are in good form recently although Leeds United did recently lose to Blackburn Rovers after going down to ten men in the first half. Rovers eventually punished Leeds United in the second half when clearly the legs were starting to tire. Wolves have been playing very well and earned some great points recently against the likes of Derby County and Nottingham Forest.

My predictions for Monday evenings game will see Wolverhampton Wanderers win on the day and it would be great to see them climb up into the play off’s and mount a serious challenge to gain promotion into the Premiership. So for the first I am going to go for a Wolverhampton Wanderers 2 – 0 win which I do feel is more than achievable. The next I am going for is both teams to score and for Wolves to win the match.
