Watford v Middlesbrough Preview, Championship, Monday 6th April 2015

The Championship is extremely exciting this season with the competition completely wide open for a number of potential winners. This does include both of these teams playing here although with Watford at home they could retake top spot. Watford could of still been top of the table coming into this match, yet dropped a number of points in the last few weeks against the likes of Ipswich Town and Derby County, both of whom are fighting for a play off position. A win here on Monday could put Watford back on top, but of course will depend on other teams such as Bournemouth and Norwich City.

Middlesbrough are sitting back on top of the Championship even though they have suffered a couple of loses in their last five league appearances. The loss to Bournemouth would of been damaging to their title chasing hopes as they are now only one point apart and in second position. In Middlesbrough’s next five games they do face some tough opposition including Watford, with in form Wolves and promotion chasing Norwich City to name a couple. They do also have some easier opponents like Rotherham United and Fulham, although with them fighting for survival to stay in the division you just never know which way that result will go.

Watford Team News:

Watford have a number of in form goalscorers within their squad this year with Troy Deeney (19), Ighalo (18) and Vydra (13) all scoring fifty between them. Midfielders Adbi, Tozser and Forestieri are also on scoring form and all taking part in the clubs excellent season.

Middlesbrough Team News:

Middlesbrough are another team surprising most this season with them having a successful Championship so far and of course their excellent FA Cup run. Youngster Patrick Bamford is in exceptional form right now and has scored fifteen league goals so far this season. Gary Leadbitter has so far scored twelve goals from the midfield.

Watford: D L W W D

Middlesbrough: W L W W L

Both clubs here are in great form this season with them both fighting for an automatic promotion spot. Yet for the above statistics in is in fact Middlesbrough who just come out on top with that one extra essential point separating the two sides.

Watford v Middlesbrough Match Betting Odds Market

Watford with them being at home are of course the bookmakers favourites to win the game come Monday lunchtime, although that result will not be easy considering their opponents. Best odds on the home win seen here @ 31/20 with BetVictor – £25 Free Bets plus an addition £5 & also get 10 Free Spins

The Draw is a solid option on Monday especially as both sides are in such good form they could potentially cancel each other out. With two draws in the last five encounters, you would have to favour this option. Best odds seen here @ 5/2 with Betfred – Bet £10 & Receive £30 Free Bets for New Customers.

Middlesbrough may not be the solid favourites to win this Monday, yet are of course not far off with such expectations. The bookmakers best odds on the away win are best seen here @ 2/1 with Bet365 – Receive £200 Matched Bets when You Register a New Account

Watford v Middlesbrough Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Championship action this bank holiday Monday comes live from Hertfordshire with Watford welcoming top of the league Middlesbrough to their ground. A win by either side could potentially produce the same result of someone being top of the league, although Watford doing so would of course fall down to how other Championship teams do on their Monday fixtures. The win for Middlesbrough would see them put some distance between them and Watford although I do feel the likes of Bournemouth will keep up the pressure with a potential win over Birmingham City.

Both teams are in exceptional form this season which has left this competition wide open with not only these two potentially ending as champions, we could also see Norwich City, Brentford and Derby County as champions come the end of the season. Middlesbrough have dropped points in their last five games which could be dangerous, and although Watford spent a week or two at the top they could still regain that position with a solid performance on Monday lunchtime.

My predictions for this game does tend to favour the draw, as I just feel both teams will play well and eventually cancel each other out on the day. The other I am going to go for is an away win with Middlesbrough taking all three points after an extremely tough battle between the two. So for the first I am going to go for both teams to score and the game end as a draw. With the next seeing Middlesbrough win 2 – 1 on the day.
