Crystal Palace v Manchester City Preview, Premiership, Monday 6th April 2015

Crystal Palace head into this game having had some excellent results of late which has seen Alan Pardew’s side win three of their last four league matches and with the club now 11pts clear of the relegation places. The whole squad is performing well and everyone seems to have slotted in perfectly with what their new manager has asked for them and Manchester City will face a difficult time of it on Monday night in front of a packed out Selhurst Park Stadium.

Manchester City head into the game having lost their way over the past couple of months and two defeats in their last five matches has really put paid to any realistic chance of them defending their title they won last season as despite having a multi-million squad, it still seems like the squad has too many individuals concentrating on their own performances rather than doing what’s best for the team in general and recent results reflect that.

Crystal Palace v Manchester City Team News:

Crystal Palace Team News:

Marouane Chamakh and Fraizer Campbell remain sidelined for the hosts as both players continue to receive treatment for respective injury related problems and they are joined by Jordon Mutch who has a thigh problem and Mile Jedinak who is suspended. Wilfred Zaha has made an immediate impact since his loan move back to Crystal Palace from Manchester United and will see this game as a real chance to show what he can do.

Manchester City Team News:

The visitors have a full squad available for this game with both Yaya Toure and Aleksandar Kolarov both having returned back to training last week and with Manchester City having struggled in the middle of the pitch without Toure, one would expect to see his name as being the first one down on the team sheet for this game.

Sergio Aguero who is likely to lead the attack up front alongside either Wilfried Bony or Edin Dzeko has still yet to get going since his return back from injury and has fallen two goals behind both Diego Costa and Harry Kane in the race for the golden boot.

Monday night’s game from Selhurst Park will become the 35th meeting between the two clubs over the years of which Crystal Palace have won 9 times with 6 having came with home advantage and Manchester City have won 16 times with 7 of those wins having came at Selhurst Park.

As we can see in our head to head statistics table below which shows the last five meetings between the two clubs over recent season’s it has been Manchester City who have dominated proceedings having won all five matches with Crystal Palace only having managed to score just one goal and conceding eight.

39 of those Goals have been scored in the previous 17 meetings played between the two clubs at Selhurst Park and this generates us an average goals scoring statistic for this match of 2.29.

Both sets of data seem to suggest that we should hopefully see a couple of goals scored during this game on Monday night and based on what the head to head stats showed it looks like Manchester City will be doing most of the scoring.

Crystal Palace v Manchester City Match Predictions, Tips & First Goal Scorer Bets.

Crystal Palace have done extremely well recently since the appointment of new manager Alan Pardew and with home advantage and the fact that their opponents have struggled recently the fans and players will be confident of winning this game.

However, their record against City over recent season’s does not inspire much confidence of backing the hosts as they have lost all five of their previous meetings and scored just one goal, whereas Manchester City have scored eight and with Yaya Toure now looking likely to be back in the starting lineup, I can only see this game following suit.

As such my Banker Prediction for this match is going to be for Manchester City to Win as their current odds on offer from the online bookmakers does look quite reasonable for squad of their talent.

The average goals per game statistics are not expecting many goals to be scored in this one and so my saver is going to be for Manchester City to Win 2-0.
